If you still have the Get Windows 10 icon in your system tray, then you should go ahead and register. Some people were saying that it is too late, but I just registered 2 days ago, and used the media tool that night to install the update. It is working well for me. I still plan to wait a while, I have no problems with Windows 7 and I know there are changes in 10 that I will need to adjust. I am perfectly happy waiting a while, probably will do it in or around October, maybe but what I have currently works the way I want. Re: [JAWS-Users] successfully upgraded to windows 10
Hi Jim, What did you do when you had to select between a Typical setup and a Custom setup? I installed Windows 10 just as you did, but when the actual installation started, I lost JAWS for speech, and could not get Narator to start. Several hours past before I could complete the installation. I finally had someone with sight to read my screen for me, and it was obvious what I needed to do, and the remainder of the installation only took a few minutes from that point. Once it did finish, JAWS restarted and prompted for my sign in information. So far, I am liking Windows 10, but I did have that one little hiccup which required some sighted assistance to get through. I immediately did the download again, took about 20 minutes, and upgraded my windows 7, 64 bit to windows 10 home, with no issues. Again, after uninstalling and reinstalling jaws, I had no issues on windows 10. Re: [JAWS-Users] successfully upgraded to windows 10
hi, I have had my reservation in since I saw it on my computer. I'm impatience, I did not want to wait for weeks. I used the microsoft tool to download windows 10. No, I did not have to put a product key in, it saw my windows 7 key and transferred it automatically. -Original Message- From: Johna Lynn Nordin Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2015 7:42 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] successfully upgraded to windows 10 How long after you reserved your copy of jaws did you get to download it? Go to the windows web site and download the windows 10 media creation tool. Run this file and select update my computer now. It will take quite a while so don't get impatient. Follow the prompts on the screen until the update is done. Mike Mike Sent from my iPhone On Aug 2, 2015, at 6:53 PM, petras wrote: I dnt know.
