[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Unable to set CMS preferences

2007-03-13 Thread h.cahyadi
Hi I try to do same thing, and it also not works, I used jboss portal 2.4.1 GA,
may be, if I give the URL of the page I accessed maybe it can help :
http://127.0.0.1:8080/portal/auth/portal/default/Admin/ManagementPortletWindow?action=2org.apache.myfaces.portlet.MyFacesGenericPortlet.VIEW_ID=%2FWEB-INF%2Fjsp%2Fmanagement%2Finstances.xhtml
I try to edit the preference, for the indexpage value from /default/index.html
to /staticContent/index.html but I get this error :

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Seam portlet with Facelet support

2007-03-04 Thread h.cahyadi
Hi [EMAIL PROTECTED] What can I share to you? the configuration? or something
else? I believe that there are somebody else who have done some thing same with
me, to use facelets inside the portal, do you already check facelets wiki? but
I still found some problems with my application, maybe I can share it here :

1. Inter Portlet Communication problem: if we do IPC, seam cannot detect if
existing conversation exist, so every time I make an IPC new converstion is
created, so I resolved this problem with kick out the IPC, this already old
issue, I don't know if the current version of seam already fix this issue

2. Multiple window isolated state, you can view that thread on this forum also

3. Back button problem, you can view that thread also in this forum

4. Still confusing about the seam interceptor, until now I not declare the seam
interceptor, but I can still get seam magic like bijection, conversation
demarcation, etc, so what is the essence of declaring/using seam interceptor

Lets share, and tell me what can I share to you, I will share it, as long as it
not confidential for my company

Thanx and Regards,

Thanks for all your answer and help, I have trial and error some posibilities
to solve this problem, i.e : play with pages.xml and faces-config.xml and also
web.xml, but still can't fix this problem, finally I try to upgrade to myfaces
1.1.5 and this can solved my problem partialy, I mean that in some page the
behaviour of the back button still not correct, but this better than
before(when I use myfaces 1.1.4) I can do back button-ing at all :)

For mjek2, sorry for this time I can't so you the source, coz of my company
policies, not permit this

Anyway thanx again for all...

2007-02-28 Thread h.cahyadi
In the version 1.2 is there any changes with the .xml file descriptor, coz I
look at the JIRA and found some changes, to the descriptor file, if in my
application architecture I separate the business logic and the presistence
logic, can I still used the entity query, currently I stuck with 2 problems :

1. Back button problem (
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopict=102681 )
the back button works on firefox and opera but not in Internet Explorer

2. Multiple windows isolated conversations
multiple windows isolated conversations work on Internet explorer, but not
works in both firefox and opera

I still investigating about this two problems, but currently I am ran out of
idea, because there are many component that I combine, I used combination of
MyFaces 1.1.5, Facelets 1.1.11, Seam 1.1.5 GA, Jboss Portal 2.4GA and Jboss AS
4.0.5 GA, is there any known issues between this combination? please give me
some light

Thanx and Regards,

The problem is I canot use back button in internet explorer, when I hit back
button my application won't go back to the previous page, it stays on the
current page, I read the seam faq, and it says that seam handle the back button
problem, but is there a clue to handle back button?

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Multiple Window/Tabs isolated conversations

2007-02-26 Thread h.cahyadi
OK let me give a more complete description

Environment :
- Seam 1.1.1 GA
- Jboss Portal 2.4 GA
- MyFaces 1.1.4
- OS Win XP

I have an application that manage internal document, and if the number of
documents is very large, I perform data paging, so I only display 10 documents
per page, the problem is when I login as the same user for two windows/tabs
(window A and Window B) and I perform the paging,

 in window A :
initial status :
displaying 10 documents of 100,  page 1 of 10

 in window B :
initial status :
displaying 10 documents of 100,  page 1 of 10

When I perform first action at window A with pressing next button(I do go to
the next page) the status will be like this :
 Window A :
displaying 10 documents of 100,  page 2 of 10

Until last step above, everything is going well, but when I do an action in
window B with pressing the next button the status starts to be strange like
this :
 Window B :
displaying 10 documents of 100,  page 3 of 10

I expect that the status in window A are isolated from window B and vice versa,
so when I perform an action in window B, the status that I expect is like this :
 Window B :
displaying 10 documents of 100,  page 2 of 10

not jump to third place, I guessed thats because of there are shared state
between the two pages, not isolated state. and this is part of my code :

  | @Name(controller)
  | @Scope(SESSION)
  | @Synchronized
  | public class myController implements Serializable {
  |
  | /** Start index */
  | @Out(scope = CONVERSATION, required = false)
  | private int startIndex;
  |
  | /** Page number */
  | @Out(scope = CONVERSATION, required = false)
  | private int page;
  |
  | /** Number Of all records */
  | @Out(scope = CONVERSATION, required = false)
  | private int totalNumberOfResults;
  |
  | /** Total number of pages */
  | @Out(scope = CONVERSATION, required = false)
  | private int totalNumberOfPages;
  |
  | /** End index */
  | @Out(scope = CONVERSATION, required = false)
  | private int endIndex;
  |
  | ...
  |
  | public void pagingNext() {
  | totalNumberOfResults = getTotalNumberOfRestults();
  | totalNumberOfPages = (totalNumberOfResults % pageSize == 0 ?
totalNumberOfResults
  | / pageSize
  | : (totalNumberOfResults / pageSize) + 1);
  |
  | page++;
  | if (page  totalNumberOfPages - 1) {
  | page = totalNumberOfPages - 1;
  | }
  |
  | startIndex = page * pageSize;
  | endIndex = (page == totalNumberOfPages - 1 ?
totalNumberOfResults : startIndex + pageSize);
  |
  | }
  |
  | ..
  |
  |
  | }
  |

I hope this description is clear, and I hope somebody outhere can help me

Thanx and Regards,
-haric-

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Accessing UserModule with MyFaces

2007-02-05 Thread h.cahyadi
Hi all,

I have progress now, I add this to jboss-portlet.xml :

  | service
  | service-nameUserModule/service-name
  | service-class
  | org.jboss.portal.identity.UserModule
  | /service-class
  | service-ref:service=Module,type=User/service-ref
  | /service
  |

and I can get the UseModule from the PortletSession and print number of current
user :

  | UserModule userModule = (UserModule)
portletSession.getPortletContext()
  | .getAttribute(UserModule);
  |
  | try {
  | if (userModule != null) {
  | log.debug(Num Of User:  +
userModule.getUserCount());
  | Set users =
userModule.findUsersFilteredByUserName(e, 1, 4);
  | log.debug(user set size: +users.size());
  | Iterator it = users.iterator();
  | while(it.hasNext()) {
  | log.debug(it.next().toString());
  | }
  | }
  | } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) {
  | // TODO Auto-generated catch block
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | } catch (IdentityException e) {
  | // TODO Auto-generated catch block
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | }
  |

but when I try to get User object like this :

  | User user = userModule.findUserById(5);
  | if(user != null) {
  | log.debug(user not null);
  | }
  |
  | User user =
userModule.findUserByUserName(test1);
  | if(user != null) {
  | log.debug(user not null);
  | }
  |

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Seam and Portal Future

2007-01-08 Thread h.cahyadi
Hi Gavin, nice to see your post again :)

I want to share my experience when using seam+portlet+jsf+facelets, may be I
also have post some of them in the diferent topic, but I found some new problem
yesterday.

Here is my spec :
- Seam 1.1.0 GA
- Jboss portal 2.4 GA

I have an application which have 2 portlet windows in one page that perform
IPC(Inter Portlet Communication), says I have portlet A and Portlet B, in
portlet B I have a listener, so everytime I click in portlet A, it performs
action to portlet B and here is my problem :

1. When everytime I click in the portlet A it creates new conversation,
eventhough in my controller I already define @Begin(join=true)

2. Some method called multiple times, I think that this is because of this
issue : http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-1411 or this
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-1338  or this
http://www.mail-archive.com/users@myfaces.apache.org/msg28583.html :)

3. when I try to change javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD parameter to server I
found that everytime I click at the portlet A, I also found that portlet A
displayed in the portlet B window, but when I switch back that parameter to
client it works well, when I click into the portlet A, in the portlet B windows
displays it self, with response to my action in the portlet A

may be jboss guys from seam division and portal division or some body out there
can help me solved this problem, and for now, is there any of you working with
same environment with me, and already use this commbination in production
level, is seam+portal combination ready for production level?

Thanx for all your attention

have tried to use tomahawk t:dataScroller it works but, I think it not
perform paging mechanism at all, because if I check the number of record stored

can anybody give me a sugestion or an example about seam data paging as an
alternative to using tomahawk t:dataScroller

is there any example about hibernate data paging? I think tomahawk data
scroller is cool and easy to use, but I don't know why, if I test only with
400.00 data it is very slow, because it actualy load all the data to the
memory, not load data on demand

my problem is, every time I change from one folder to another folder(I click on
portlet A) it creates a new conversation, does anybody have the same cased with
me? maybe gavin or roy russo, can give me some clue.
