OK, I restated the summary and reopened the bug/wish.

My suggested fix is to move the button back up so that we do not need to open
the extended options.

[systemsettings] [Bug 429129] New: Changing global theme doesn't effect gtk3 application colors

2020-11-14 Thread PK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429129

Bug ID: 429129
Summary: Changing global theme doesn't effect gtk3 application
colors
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.20.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pieterkristen...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Changing to an other global theme, with other systemcolors, does not effect
applications such as Thunderbird and Firefox. This only affects them after a
reboot. But changing just the system colors from the "color" module of the kde
systemsettings does so immediately.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change to other global theme with global theme module of systemsettings
2. Start various applications
3. Thunderbird and Firefox will not have adapted to the newly chosen
colorscheme

OBSERVED RESULT
Gtk applications stick to the previous system colors

EXPECTED RESULT
Gtk applications follow the colors of the global theme

Bug ID: 429128
Summary: Recently added message that warns you when you ask the
mount to point at the Sun is coming up and looping.
   Product: kstars
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When try to slew to the Sun it pops up a confirmation dialogue to confirm that
it is safe to do so. After a new build from source 18 hours ago it keeps
redisplaying the dialogue box.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select or find Sun
2. Select slew to object
3. Select yes or no

OBSERVED RESULT
It closes the box and then displays it again.

EXPECTED RESULT
It closes the box and following the action decision.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have previously found that it can sometimes pop up this message when doing a
meridian flip while I am tracking the Sun (although this is intermittant)
There is usually some drift while tracking and I usually just slew it again to
centre it but it pops up the warning each time, which is annoying.

** Suggestions **
There is no point asking the question if you are already tracking the Sun.
My suggestion is that if you already within 2 degrees (or a user definable)
distance from the Sun then it should skip the message.
Also, it should pop up the message if you attempt to slew to within 2 degrees
(or a user definable) distance of the Sun, as long as it is not the condition
above.

Ah interesting. That doesn't appear to be an option anymore in the latest

I believe that the experimental OpenGL FakeKMS option is default in this
version of raspberry pi OS. I did however try both options, and got roughly the
same result. Open GL ends up being a hard hang that can only be recovered with
a REISUB, or hard poweroff.

Legacy Driver still required a REISUB, but at least it unmounted the sdcard and
stuff.

patch to render text immediately in textbox

SUMMARY
When Konqueror is used with KHTML engine,
- Text input in textbox is not rendered immediately.

When changing the window focus to other, the text in textbox is rendered and
button get disarmed, triggerring any actions with it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch Konqueror with KHTML engine. Input methods probably should be off.
2. Browse a page with a text box, such as http://www.google.com/ .
3. Type text into the text box. It isn't visible. Text cursor caret is also
missing.
4. Switch focus to another window. The typed text will be rendered.

OBSERVED RESULT
Input text is not visible. It is rendered after window focus change.

EXPECTED RESULT
Input text should be visible immediately.

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: bruno.coud...@gcompris.net
  Reporter: kevkear...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Gcompris crashes with the latest raspberry pi os updates, but not the latest
release. I am trying to track down what the difference is. The application UI
starts up, and the icons start to wiggle, but within seconds the mouse,
keyboard, and UI freeze and won't respond to any other input. The cout and cerr
streams don't give any clue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Raspberry Pi OS from August 20th 2020 but don't run "apt
full-upgrade".
2. Install the 0.76.1 raspberry pi version of gcompris
3. Install libpulse-dev, because gcompris requires it
4. Start gcompris, it runs properly without a crash
5. Run a "sudo apt update" followed by "sudo apt full-upgrade".
6. Run gcompris

OBSERVED RESULT
gcompris freezes with the latest updates and kernel available for rasperry pi
os installed, but works fine on vanilla version from August 20th 2020.

EXPECTED RESULT
gcompris doesn't freeze with the latest updates

2020-11-14 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 429122
Summary: Alt+key disabled in main layout when adding secondary
layout that has 'grave'
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.19.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_keyboard_layout
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: darkst...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In Plasma, when I add a second layout the layout that containts 'grave' as the
secondary symbol in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ then while in the first layout
pressing alt+(the key that contains grave in the second layout) no longer
registers, so even when testing with 'xev' pressing the alt+key will not
register a KeyPress event, only a KeyRelease event. Removing the secondary
layout or removing the 'grave' from the symbols definition in the
aforementioned directory will make the Alt+key work again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add Arabic as Secondary Layout
2. While in primary English layout run Xev to test key presses
3. Press Alt+u in xev.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Keypress of Alt+u will not be registered.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Keypress of Alt+u should be registered.

Please, double check well my important last commit with data providers classes
which are polymorphic and provide a copy constructor/operator. My fix must be
safe (at least after plenty of tests, all is fine here).

btw as a more "scientific" way of analysing vsync, check:
https://www.vsynctester.com/

also, if is possible as a guide, swaywm does vsync perfectly.

Also, as a notice, using vsynctester.com, even the primary dedicated video card
isn't having optimal vsync.

Anyway, since I now have your branch working again, I can now test as soon as
you commit.

It gets called once per GPU, so that's expected. I'll fix it properly, we
should have proper checks for that anyways, for older kernel/driver versions
etc that don't present us with certain properties.

The tearing is unfortunate but also not unexpected. Fixing that will likely
have to wait for a little while as I have neither hardware to test nor any
untested ideas anymore.

Actually you do not need to change the search location, but you need to click
on the "show search options" button to the left of the replace input to open
the folder search options...

That said you need to move the mouse all the way to the left click a button and
then move all the way back to the right to be able to click the "reload"
button. not a good UX :(

That was three years ago and I don't well remember what the problem was.
Some workaround for Rosegarden has been added long ago.
I still can reproduce the attachment 106430 problem today on an old system :
KDE Frameworks 5.42.0 / Qt 5.9.4.
I can't reproduce it on a recent system : KDE Frameworks 5.75.0 / Qt 5.15.1.
So there is no more issue and the problem is now fixed.
I set the bug status to "resolved".
Thanks.

The mouse scrollwheel acts to scroll the contents of the blending mode list if
there are modes or groups beyond the top or bottom of the list.

You will stop at the start or end of the list as might be expected for
scrolling.
Also, I don't see that any blendng modes are missing, in the Layers docker or
in the Brush Blending Mode list.

Can you attach screenshots to illustrate what you mean and what you see?

+1 to suggestions in comment #23. The indication could be a KMessageWidget
near the top centre of the window, saying something like:

   The device containing this folder
   has been unmounted from

with the "warning" palette and icon.

Hello Tymond,

Well, I can't retry right now because my computer suddenly suddenly broke down
some days ago, so I need to wait to buy new hardwares to confirm, but from my
memory, I'm quite sure that I tried with and without a tag selected...

I'll confirm once I get my new PC, probably in December.

I don't think it's krita that starts working again. It's probably your tablet
driver that starts working again after a full restart, or more.

Please go to krita-artists.org and start a topic there in the Support and
Advice: Input Device Support category.
That forum is a good place for discussion, help and advice, posting images from
testing activity etc.

[LabPlot2] [Bug 429110] New: "atan2" function doesn't work as expected

2020-11-14 Thread Orestes Mas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429110

Bug ID: 429110
Summary: "atan2" function doesn't work as expected
   Product: LabPlot2
   Version: 2.8.1
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: frontend
  Assignee: alexander.se...@web.de
  Reporter: ores...@tsc.upc.edu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The "atan2" function does not yeld the expected values

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new project -> Add a worksheet -> Add an xy-plot -> Add a new
xy-curve from a mathematical equation.
2. As equation, type: "180*atan(1)/pi" and press "recalculate" button.
3. Should appear a stright line plot of value 45 as arctan(1)=45 degrees.
4. Now change the equation to "180*atan2(1,1)/pi", and press "recalculate"
again. The plot should not change, as the "atan2" function is supposed to be
defined as "atan2(Y,X) = atan(Y/X)" but being quadrant-aware. Instead, a
straight-line plot of 90 degrees appears, which is erroneous.

OBSERVED RESULT
A value of 90 degrees

EXPECTED RESULT
A value of 45 degrees

The freshest Kubuntu 20.10 and the "cleanest" installation - just boot to live
CD, set additional layout, switch to this language, lock the screen, and voila!
the language of lockscreen is not English.

[kmymoney] [Bug 424544] CSV importer cannot deal with recipient & description in separate(!) columns?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424544

Jack changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|REOPENED|NEEDSINFO
 Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO

First, the bug was closed automatically, because you did not respond to my
question for additional information (Comment #1 22 July) within 45 days. When
the bug is in "Needsinfo/WaitingForInfo" state, and you reply, you need to set
the status back to Opened or Reopened, to prevent this from happening.

As Thomas said, wanting a field other than "memo" to store any other
combination of input fields or other data should be logged as a separate
"wishlist" bug, as it would be a new feature.

Looking back at your original entry and Comments #4 and #6, what you call
"Description" should probably be used for choosing the Category. Automatic
matching of category on importing data could also be a wishlist bug, but I
think most users include any such input Description into the Memo. Also, the
only problem with including putting more than one input field into the Memo is
that you can't sort separately on the different pieces, but this is how the
program is designed, so you may actually have multiple wishlist items, but they
are not actual bugs. It would be reasonable to simply convert this bug into a
Wishlist, but if so, you should be pretty specific in what you are asking for.

about the tearing, its not great. it has more tearing that X11, with the
following case:

If unconfigured X11, it seems to have the same or slightly better.
if X11 configured with:

Section "Device"
  Identifier "Intel Graphics"
  Driver "intel"
  Option "DRI" "3"
  Option "TearFree" "true"
EndSection

it has worse tearing ( well, X11 with those configs has no visible tearing )

[kwin] [Bug 425586] [Wayland] KDE does not detect a second monitor

2020-11-14 Thread Alexandre Pereira
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425586

Sorry to be almost hijacking this bug report, but i dunno where should I take
this findings.

So, changing the code to:

```
bool isNonDesktop() const {
qCDebug(KWIN_DRM) << "ALEXP PROPERTIES SIZE" << m_props.size();
if (m_props.size() == 0)
return false;
return
m_props.at(static_cast(PropertyIndex::NonDesktop))->value();
}
```

in the logging, it seems it calls that code once where the size of properties
is 0. then the next time it calls it, its 2

This makes it work.
