[Bug 41976] Re: adept ask a question but not possible to answer

2006-05-06 Thread Colin Watson
No, it's not a debconf bug either; debconf is just doing what it's told to do.

x11-common's config script asks x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value at priority low,
and then if validation fails it asks x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value/error at
priority critical and goes round the loop again. Firstly, if the user never saw
the question in the first place (and the previously stored value is wrong for
some reason), this is bizarre UI; secondly, it never bumps the priority after
error so the user never gets an opportunity to enter a new value (although it
does set a safe value, so it's probably just poor UI rather than an infinite
loop).

I imagine that the xorg maintainers will have further questions to try to work
out how things got into this state, though.

[Bug 43155] Re: KDE panel hiding messes up desktop icons

2006-05-06 Thread Rocco Stanzione
The idea behind hiding the panel is to reclaim the desktop space
formerly occupied by the panel. Maximized windows resize themselves and
icons rearrange themselves, by design. This is a request to change
deliberately chosen designed-in behavior, so I'm assigning severity to
'wishlist', but I agree. It's annoying.

[Bug 43155] Re: KDE panel hiding messes up desktop icons

2006-05-06 Thread cornn
Ah I see, but some icons just mix places. The one that was above goes down, and
the one which was below goes up. I really don't know what's the point behind
that.
In my case I have the trash bin in my lower right corner, and everytime I hide
the panel it jumps one place up. When I unhide it, it also jumps one place up.
Soon enough, it gets to my upper right corner... It's quite irritating.

I was going to report similar bug. I'm not sure if it's a different issue.

There's a 'minimal' example at

Using xdvi only the second image (which was passed through eps2eps) shows.

If you dvips and evince the result, you'll see both images...

[Bug 43310] kmail frequently loses folder settings

2006-05-06 Thread Lorenzo E. Danielsson
Public bug reported:

Affects: kdepim (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Kmail regularly loses folder settings, such as expiry details or custom
icons. It can reliably be reproduced by creating a few folders, settings
expiry to them and a custom icon, then closing a restarting
kontact/kmail a few times. You should see some of the folders losing
their settings.

According to
http://www.kde.org/announcements/changelogs/changelog3_5_2to3_5_3.php
this seems to be fixed from SVN r531267.
