Re: [LegacyUG] Newspaper tidbits, put into "Notes" or enter as a "Fact"?

Vicki,
I added a new Event to the Master Event Definition List and
named it "In the News."

Please advise if you come up with something better.

I am interested to know how other Legacy users enter things like these.

I could come up with a "Misc" fact name as an umbrella catch-all for
small little pieces of news like these items, or put them into an
individual's notes but I'm not sure if there is another way to enter
things like these or the advantages (or disadvantages) to entering
things like these a certain way.

Any ideas on how to enter these little news items?

Thanks so much!

Vicki

I use an event/fact called "Newspaper Article".

2009-03-06 Thread CE WOOD
There's much to be found in newspapers, on the internet as well as hard copy.
I have a master source called Newspaper Clipping, with the Repository being
Carolyn's Library, when I have the actual or downloaded article. The details
of the paper, date, page, etc., I include in the Source Detail. I prefer a
generic master source, although when I have the time I may segregate those from
the New York Times, of which I now have several hundred.

As more and more make their archives accessible on line, it is possible to
learn so much.

I created an event called newspaper clippings and transcribe what I find in the
notes section. This way I can also enter the source for each individual
clipping.
