[LegacyUG] Adopted child
Thanks for that, Donna and Roland I was more worried about how to add the real parents, once I find them and also show the adopted parents. Is it possible to have two (or more) sets of parents? RE: [LegacyUG] Adopted child
In children's settings there is a drop down screen that you can make note of this. Relationship to Father and Relationship to Mother. The down arrow gives different suggestions, one is adopted. Re: [LegacyUG] Blank e-mails [blocked due to bad URL]
I did think of that before, but then I expected my Vipre Antivirus program to tell me that it has found a bad e-mail, or that it has replaced suspected content with a message saying so. However, prompted by your note, I looked further. Sure enough, the Vipre history log does list the messages that had appeared with blank content! These e-mails are listed as Quarantined, and the risk is shown as Blocked URL. Inspection of the details further shows that the offending URL is http: //www. jgen. ws/ jlog/. (spaces inserted by me.) This URL is the same domain as JLB's e-mail address. I have no idea why Vipre decided to block it. Further, I am not happy that Vipre removed the entire message body, rather than just replacing the URL with a message. I'll have to look to see if there is a setting that I can tweak. RE: [LegacyUG] Unused Surnames
Thanks, Jenny! I didn't look far enough down in the Options list to see that command. I'd still like to know why the Used flag in tblNR is 0 when the surname is in fact used. This is contrary to the Y/N bit (1=true, 0=false). -Original Message- From: Jenny M Benson [mailto:ge...@cedarbank.me.uk] Sent: Sunday, January 06, 2013 5:33 AM To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Unused Surnames On 06/01/2013 10:26, M. Thanks for any hints. Tag the children of the chosen couple with an unused tag and then do a Search for Individuals with that tag number. [LegacyUG] Unused Surnames
I am trying to find surnames in my database that are not being used. If I don't know the maiden name of a woman, I enter her surname as [[Smith, wife of John]]. Once I find her maiden name, I update her record accordingly but I know that I may not have gone back to the Master Surname List and deleted the temporary name. I would like to clean them up now. If I run the Surname Summary list, these surnames don't show up in the list and I suspect that they might be included in "No Surname". If I open the database in Access and look at tblNR, I see that there is a column for "Used". I thought that those not used would have Used = 0 but this is not the case. Some of the ones that are used also have Used = 0. Can anyone provide some insight into this? Thank you!
