Could you update to last stable LO version 5.4.5? (You may also try the brand
new 6.0.1)
Also, you can rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows) and give a new try.

You must check too that if you use LO 32 bits, you must have Java 32 bits and
of course if you use LO 64 bits, you must have Java 64 bits.

I also think the watermark should be selectable as an object (e.g. by clicking
on it), and thus hitting DEL after having selected it, it should be removed.
(How is a watermark removed, BTW? Setting the text to an empty string? Doesn't
sound like a clean concept...)

I see the same slowness when scrolling pictures of moderated size (10 cm x 10
cm, 200 dpi, PNG).

Things can be improved a bit by using the maximum CPU frequency all the time.

In most cases when you use find and replace, there would be some words lie
after the period with the first letter being capital. Having to replace two
times with case sensitive would be a pain.
I suggest that libreoffice should include a feature where I can replace "left",
"Left", and "LEFT" to "right", "Right", and "RIGHT" respectively in one go as
in Microsoft Office.

Writer document with single 's' as watermark

I found out that the watermark is too big if just one single letter (e.g. 's')
is being used. Starting at about three characters, the size seem OK. See
example attached.
This bug may be more relevant if the glyph being used representing some company
logo (in a special font).

Currently (LO 5.4) the size of a watermark cannot be controlled: There is
neither a font size, nor some relative width or height of the test to be used
as watermark. Also the watermark always seems to be centered on the page.
Other programs offer the following controls for watermarks:

1) Position (horizontal (left, center, right), vertical (top middle, bottom)

2) Relative size (percent of (text area, page area)) (This can be a bit tricky
with rotated text)

3) Absolute font size

Another thing is the relative position: Currently the watermark is on the very
bottom of the page: If you have any images on the page, the watermark may
become invisible effectively. Probably an option to place the watermark on the
very top of the page would be useful.

Tested on LO x86 6.0.1.1 - no crash, only BASIC error in line 423,
CollectionUnit.

On old LO x64 5.4.3.2 - no crash at start. But there "BASIC error in line 423,
CollectionUnit" and crash right after this, when manually start macros ppv.xlsm
-> prepr_rub_NEW.xls -> ThisWorkbook -> Workbook_Open.

I think LO 6.0.1.1 x64 start that macros after file loaded and crash after
"BASIC error in line 423, CollectionUnit".

Please, test on windows x64 build.

Thank you for answers.
No, I do not get any crashreport. How can I enable this? After print, it
appears the classic window "LibreOffice has stopped working" and the only
option I have is "Close the program".

I am sure is no corruption in the user profile because I installed LibreOffice
v.6.0.1.1 clean => that means I uninstalled the old version then manually
delete old LibreOffice folders:
c:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice
c:\Program Files\LibreOffice\
Only after that I installed LibreOffice v.6.0.1.1

I also did the safe mode thing as instructed and re-tested: same crash even
from safe mode.

If you apply formatting to text while the record (track changes) feature is on,
the formatting does not revert back if you reject the change. Instead, only the
history of the change goes away. The text formatting options I've noticed this
with are italics, bold, font color, and highlight, but may not be restricted to
these.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Type something in LibreOffice Writer
2.Turn the record (track changes) feature on
3.Apply formatting to that text, such as italics
4.Right-click this text and press "reject change."

Actual Results:  
The history of the change got deleted, as it should have, but the formatting of
the text itself did not revert.

Expected Results:
It should have reverted the text formatting.

When using my surface pro 4, it's not possible to do any cells operations
(using mouse, touchpad or touchscreen) like extending a formula to another
cells or move content of a cell to another one, etc...
Looks like, this issue happens only on device with touchscreen capability. On

It seems that my setup of LibreOffice (current version 5.1.6.2 on Ubuntu) will
malfunction during mail merge operations if the writer document is on my
network drive. I have observed that if I copy the same document to my desktop
or even a USB stick, that the mail merge will work properly. I am using
LibreOffice formats for the the spreadsheet containing the data for mail merge
and the document itself (i.e. ods and odt).

Workaround: Copy the document to my desktop or home and then do the mail merge
- easy!

Steps to reproduce:
--- create a LO spreadsheet with two columns and enter column names in the top
row and some data in a few rows underneath, then save in a network drive.
--- create a LO document 
--- insert two fields as follows

   --- go to Insert > Field > More Fields
   --- in the dialog box, select Database tab
   --- click the Browse... button to navigate to and select the spreadsheet. 
   --- This will add the file to the "Database selection" list
   --- ensure that "Mail merge fields" is selected in the "Type" list
   --- navigate through the "Database selection" to the spreadsheet and then
the fields/columns within it.
   --- click "Insert" to insert first field and repeat for second field.

--- save document on the same network drive
--- close document 
--- copy document to the desktop
--- open the desktop version of the document and attempt to conduct a mail
merge
--- expected result: SUCCESS - actual result: SUCCESS
--- close all documents
--- open network drive version of the document and repeat mail merge process
--- expected result: SUCCESS - actual result: FAILURE

Since you mentioned that you have a JP system locale, are you also using an
Apple Mac JP keyboard layout ? 

There are a few known issues about some shortcuts not working with non-QWERTY
keyboards linked to the hardcoding of the ASCII-based shortcuts in LO's code.

One recent discussion focussed on the Cmd-tilde key not working correctly in a
non-En/US setup (on my FR Apple keyboard this is Cmd-accent grave instead), so
it may also be dependent on the type of keyboard you have.

Buoviaga: I've installed the 6.0.1 version.
But it seems that the Fax-field in Tools-Options-LibreOffice Writer remains
like it is set previously. This is in standard mode and in save mode.  That
means, now it is not depending on the template or document as described in bug
114981, comment 7. May it be the failure is repaired in 6.0.1? I get in all
cases the correct message that the Fax would be not defined.

When I check the Installation settings (during the second run of the Installer)
the Russian was NOT checked as the installed UI language. After I (re)install
the LibreOffice (including the Russian as the UI language) then the Russian was
set as the UI and the Help (russian) was appears. 

BUT! The way to download the English Help does not explained in the Message
"You must to download the Help!" -- by what way I can learn (get a help) for
download the Help while I have NOT any Help in the PC? :)

I can't tell if this really is a problem, but in looking at text of
uncompressed PDF files--of the coordinate pars for the vertices the Y-value
consistently is just 2, 1 or even no decimal place. While the X-value is almost
always the full 5 decimal place precision.

Some of the Y-values for pairs do show full 5 digit precision--e.g. the
drawRectangle bounding box. 

But seems like more of the Y-value vertices should get 5 digit precision.

If I use a bullet and move it one level below, it will change to numering. The
problem is possible to solve by setting the bullets again. But this can be time
consuming.

1. Create new document
2. Create a bullet with Bullets and numbering tool
3. Move the bullet one level below.

Actual Results:  
The bbullets change to numbering when its level is changed.

Expected Results:
The bullets would not change when its level is changed.

This is still an issue in LibreOfficeCalc 6.0.

Like others, I generate ods files externally to LibreOfficeCalc with a custom
database export script. I generate the all the necessary xml files, the
mimetype and add png files. I carefully zip it all up to get a compliant ods
file.

As stated before, it is not possible during generation to know the row height
in order to set it in the xml. (Or rather it would require duplicating the
current LibreOfficeCalc auto row height calculation code based on content,
font, kerning, padding, size etc)

Opening the file in Excel, everything looks good.
Opening the file in LibreOfficeCalc6, all rows are at their default heights.

It is a problem, since users run the exporter themselves to create the ods, and
expect it to look correct when opening it. Getting them to run a macro is not a
solution.

It seems that the algorithm from Bernhard Donaubauer should be sufficient:

a) if there is no height attribute and the "use_optimal-row-height" attribute
is set then calculate the row height

b) if there is no height attribute and the "use_optimal-row-height" attribute
is not set then use the default value

c) if there is a height attribute just use it

If that is not possible, could a new custom xml attribute be introduced and
used to trigger row height recalculation on file open? Then we can just add
that to the xml. I don't care if it is stripped back out on save, since then
the height will be set anyway.

For me on macOS, Helvetica Neue Bold shows it fine. Is everything OK with your
Helvetica Neue? It is complete?

Can you suggest some other font we should target on macOS?

Compared to all the complex scripts, Slovenian is easy peasy. For example,
Nanum Gothic is almost 3 megabytes, if we were to host it ourselves. That is

For information: changes for bug 105226 did a change of the time separator from
'.' dot to ':' colon . This is the reason why calculating with the text string
"00.30" fails now in an Italian locale and shows once more why such string
calculations should not be used. In fact in this case it worked only in an
Italian locale, loading the document in a different locale may have failed
anyway, and even worse in a locale with '.' as decimal separator and conversion
from text to number enabled produces the number 0.3 instead, which if used as
time is different from the value for 00:30.

I have just uploaded two more files. The first zip contains screen captures of
the problem:

MJ-1-Bad.JPG  Show the first occurrence of the problem (as it occurs on my
system)
MJ-1-Good.JPG Shows the above after correcting the problem
MJ-2-Bad.JPG  Show a later occurrence of the problem
MJ-3-Good.JPG Shows the above after correcting the problem
MJ-3-Bad.JPG  Shows the problem as it occurs in the new document (see below)

For the first document I forgot to mention that when you see the first
occurrence of the problem and fix it as explained in comment 5, the problem is
not gone but only moved several pages down. You have to check the document up
to the very end and fix each occurrence. But then the TOC does not reflect the
changes and would have to be updated causing the problem to reappear.

The second zip contains a new version of the document which I created from
scratch. Rather than using sections to create columns, pages styles are used.
The problem now occurs much later in the document, in the chapter “Alphabetical
recording list” which consists of several dozen small tables. MJ-3-Bad.JPG
shows the problem. Interestingly, moving the mouse pointer one or more times
over the page boundary fixes the problem at this point, but as mentioned above
it occurs again a few pages further down. And again the TOC is wrong after
correcting everything and would have to be refreshed.

What does the *string* "00.30" in AB5 mean? It is supposed to mean time; still
for Italy, the "." is thousands separator... is there an unambiguous
conversion? You use strings universally for things that must be numbers, times
etc.

I don't know if this should be treated a bug, but my personal position is that
this is user error. One should use "TIME(0;30;0)" and proper cell format (which
is already set btw) instead of strings like "00.30" imo.

"Select" is also in the Drawing toolbar and becomes handy when you edit text,
for example. and want to switch back to the object. But I admit that it's a bit
weird not only because of the terminology (see also
https://help.libreoffice.org/Impress/Drawing_Bar#Select)

"Start from First Slide" is part of the Standard toolbar. Both are available
elsewhere, so we could just remove the Slide Sorter bar. 

Alternatively we could provide access to Up and Down (which seems to be Page
Up/Down/Start/End from Draw).

Description:
in attached demo document there is a bibliography that has shortnames of
unequal length. I would like to have the bibliografic entries aligned.
Therefore I inserted a Tab-character in the definition of the entry after the
shortname for types used and I included a Tab at 3cm from left in the paragraph
definition Literaturverzeichnis1. However
Problem:
You should see the desired alignment is not achieved.

Behaviour is still faulty as decribed by jens116, the print preview shows the
frame (after the change in width) at a new location - in my case on page 3 and
so does the normal view. After storing and reopening the document shows Frame2
at the initial position and the document has 2 pages (=initial version).

Crash reproduced with LO 6.0.1.1 x64 / Windows 7.
No crash with LO 5.4.4.2 x64.
=> regression

In Linux there is only a macro error in 6.0, which isn't there in 5.4, so maybe
that can be bibisected.

- While an existing file is open, save its lock file,
- Edit it with a text editor manually by replacing the user name in the first
field with a different one (it's in ",Computer/User," form), eg. add a
character to it,
- Place it next to the original file when the file is not open,
- Try saving an empty document over the file.

=> There is an error (see screenshot).
Similar to bug 108210, which was about opening such files, it should be
possible to save over files that are protected by lock files, but there is no
corresponding file system lock (if otherwise there's supposed to be). For
example this could happen if the locking LO instance crashed.

Observed using LO 6.1 daily build (2018-02-14_23:48:44,
09fcdbd5e0ae35fb7db8c8784329035edd82573b).

Didn't remember this mockup which nicely fits into the customization. Freely
defined shortcuts are not so easy to implement but this solution is feasible as
an (advanced) esayhack.

While it is still possible to delete Row 2
deletion of culumn 2 in the mirrored table is now forbidden (delete column is
greyed out)
This change of behaviour is not improving the situation. The desired result is
not achieved and I can not see how to achieve it... (no bypass solution!)

Create vba library if it did not exist before
Add basicLibraries to the library container in the ensure function.
It is needed in case of an xlsm file, because the VBAProject library
was not added by the filter.

Description:
I created a table with 5 columns, and a style for each column. When I got to
the end of the table and hit the TAB key on the last cell to create a new row,
all of my text formatting reverted back to the default "Table Contents" style.
The text in the rows showed that my style were still applied and the attributes
of those styles had not changed, but what actually appeared was the default
Table Contents style. Reapplying my styles to each row caused them to go back
to the desired format, but each new table row caused the problem all over
again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a table with a few rows
2. Add text to the cells, format them and create styles
3. On the last cell, hit the TAB key to create a new row.

Actual Results:  
The text formatting is all lost

Expected Results:
A new row would be created which, at the very least, would not affect cells
already filled.


Reproducible: Always
