Re: [LincolnTalk] My Candidacy for the Lincoln Planning Board

2023-03-16 Thread Chris McCarthy
Mark,

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your honesty regarding the hope
that enforcement of the HCA will be struck down by the courts. It is
certainly a progressive piece of legislation. Though hopefully
non-compliance wouldn't create lengthy and expensive battles for those
involved.

As to your last point, I don't believe anyone is trying to keep people out.
Existing zoning including large lot sizes, exemptions like conservation
land, wetlands etc. have already done that for us. As a fellow Lincoln
Station area resident I also hope to find creative solutions rather than
pulling the ladder up behind us.

Thanks again for the response, and thank you to Lynn as well.

[LincolnTalk] Vote for Craig Nicholson

2023-03-16 Thread Terri Morgan
Craig Nicholson for Planning Board

We the undersigned are enthusiastically supporting Craig Nicholson for one
of the two open seats on the Lincoln Planning Board in the election on
March 27.

Craig lives in Lincoln with his wife and three daughters. When he’s not
coaching town soccer or running on the Lincoln trails, he’s quite busy both
professionally and as a very active member of our community.

He has experience in planning and working with communities that makes him a
valuable addition to the Board. He is currently the Director of Operations
for a real estate consultancy (AjaxCS.com ), where
he spearheads sustainability initiatives and works closely with a variety
of stakeholders. As a volunteer in Lincoln, he currently serves as an
Associate Member of the Lincoln Planning Board to which he was appointed by
the Planning Board and Board of Selects in 2018. He is a member of the
Lincoln School Building Committee and was on the South Lincoln Planning
Implementation Committee. In Boston, he was the lead of an organization
that worked closely with residents, landowners, developers and businesses
in Boston’s South End Neighborhood. His Master's degree from Tufts combines
traditional planning with a focus on social justice and sustainability. We
believe that all of his experiences will help the Planning Board in
critically evaluating proposals that come before the Board.

We cannot imagine anyone more qualified - through his professional
expertise, his overall engagement in our community, and the time he has put
in as an alternate member of the Planning Board - to represent the many and
diverse voices of our town on the important planning issues we face over
the next several years.

Please join us and vote for Craig Nicholson on March 27 or by mail-in
ballot.

Re: [LincolnTalk] My Candidacy for the Lincoln Planning Board

2023-03-16 Thread Lynn DeLisi, M.D. via Lincoln
Hi ChrisYou raise an excellent question that we have all been discussing over
the last 24 hours, ever since the AG's statement came out.I can tell you my
view that has somewhat changed over the past few years with input from others
and also with the State having come out with the HCA.I think we should think
very hard and carefully about how we can comply with the HCA. It is to
Lincoln's benefit in the long run to do so because we have an active MBTA
station in the center of South Lincoln.
HOWEVER, I believe we must not, and do not need to, change zoning in a way that
puts the existing homes at risk of the current residents in multifamily housing
in that 1/2 mile radius around the station area. We have to come up with
creative planning that will preserve their communities, whether their units are
rentals or Condos. We should be able to not only preserve their homes from
redevelopment, but the wooded area surrounding them that maintains that
wonderful unique Lincoln natural environment. We also have to look carefully at
the Town infrastructure that needs to be in place--for new development to occur
in any area--ie for sewage, roads, emergency response etc.I think we can still
comply with the HCA and yet come up with creative proposals IN COLLABORATION
with the people who live in these vulnerable neighborhoods.I would very much
welcome your input and views.
I am very sorry that I will not be able to be at the candidate's forum next
week, because of a long ago arranged family trip. However, I would be happy to
discuss more details about this issue or other topics of concern with anyone if
you contact me directly by either of my emails: lynn_del...@hms.harvard.edu or
delis...@aol.com
Best wishes/Lynn DeLisi

I’m looking for someone to work selling items on Ebay including clothes,
records etc.

The items are not large. The only caveat is that I’d like whomever works in
this capacity, to take the items for sale out of my house, package them up and
in some cases do research about the going rate on some items. as we are
downsizing and making space. I can pay $20 an hour.

My email is lauraboss...@mac.com .

Thank you,

Gratefully,
