Is that on the App Store? If it is, I'm not finding it, for some reason.

Take care,

Hi!

Playing around with iText got me wondering if the Bean word processor/text
editor was still being developed? That was a very nice handy, accessible and
free text editing tool with many of the functions found in iText Express.

Re: Strong's Concordance / OS,iOS

2013-11-19 Thread Sarah k Alawami
Here is the description from the itunes store. It looks neat for those of us
studying the bible.

Strong's Concordance, is a concordance of the King James Bible (KJV) that was
constructed under the direction of Dr. James Strong (1822–1894) and first
published in 1890. A concordance lets the reader directly compare how the same
word may be used elsewhere in the Bible. In this way Strong's Notes provides an
independent check against translations, and offers an opportunity for greater,
and more technically accurate understanding of the Bible text. Want to see it
in action before you buy? Try Strong's Concordance Lite which provides a 100%
functional demo of Matthew and Genesis. This program does not require internet
access, everything you need is all stored on the iDevice. Features: * Search
for English words, and lookup Greek/Hebrew dictionaries. * Proper concordance,
listing how the word was translated in other bible verses. * Full King James
Text is included * Click on any blue word for concordance text. * Night mode
for those that like to read at night (White on black) * iPad support Please
note: This version is not an "exhaustive" concordance, and does skip smaller
words such as "and, or, the, a" as well as some other words. We're open to
suggestions for improvement in future versions. Send comments and suggestions
to strongs at orionsys.org.

It’s $4.99 on the app store for ios.

Hello,
I see that the iOS and OS app stores have Strong’s Concordance. I am so
tempted to purhcase this, but $10 US is a pretty steep price to pay since I
don’t know if it’s accessible. Has anyone tried this app or know of anyone
who has?
I would kill for a Concordance, and I’d really love it if it could be Strong’s.
Thanks for any thoughts,

VO Volume problem on the 5S

2013-11-19 Thread Eric Caron
Hi listers,

My iPhone 5S volume will only go up to 35 percent. I've tried raising
it in the Roter and I've tried removing it from the roter and using the volume
buttons pressed while VO is talking.

I believe I read somewhere that this is either a iOS 7 bug or a iPhone 5 S bug.

I suspect iPhone 5 as my 4S sas it is going up to 100 percent and it does sound
louder.

I tried also removing volume from the roter and restarting my phone. Again no
change.

Anyone else having this 5S problem? Any solutions?

Hi Andy,

You're quite welcome. When I got my MBA recently, a friend recommended it
because I was having problems with TextEdit and switching from word. It's my
word processor on my MBA of choice. Happy processing.

Cheers,
Eileen

Re: Sinking issues to a 5S am I alone? any tips?

2013-11-19 Thread Eric Caron
Hi Travis,

I have not really solved the problem but after repeated attempts I
currently have what I want moved to my 5S. Funny thing is I can sink to my 4S
with identical settings quickly and easily.

I try many things to sink to my 5S including:
repeatedly restarting my computer and phone
uncheck and re check items in iTunes
Sink repeatedly.

Currently I seem to have better success over wifi but I plan to compare that to
connection with USB.

Finally sometimes it seems like long hours after my computer says it is done
sinking the item I added suddenly shows up.

Meanwhile sinking to my 4S on the same computer with the same settings is quick
and flawless.

One plus is that Apple support has called me back a few times to see if things
were resolved. I've had very nice conversations. They are still however as
baffled as I am.

there's a podcast on Applevis.com about a battery app that deals with all
things battery. David Woodbridge did the podcast, and a search on the site for

Re: question about MacGourmet

2013-11-19 Thread Dane Trethowan
I'm looking at the help topics now regarding importing recipes.

There are several sites listed however the help does point out that - due to
frequent changes of web design - the import assistant may not always be
accurate.

I know from my experience of Mac Gourmet that the assistant will pop up and you
will sometimes have to move the data around that the assistant has imported,
once you're satisfied with the placement of your imported data you can close
the Import Assistant and your recipe will be saved.

You can use the Mac Gourmet Import Assistant with applications other than
Safari so make sure that the appropriate services are enabled.

RE: battery status

2013-11-19 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Hi,

When I first got my MBA about 2 1/2 months ago, I had the same question.
Over the weekend, I finally got my first alert when the MBA went down to 5%.
So, you stated that you were plugging in at 7%, which would not trip the
alert. I have no idea if this alert can be changed like increasing it to
10%. I was wondering if other more seasoned Mac users can chime in on how to
configure the battery alert percentage to be increased or to have a shortcut
on the desktop to access this info instead of opening the status menu.

Thanks.

Re: Reporting issues, was: VO+shift+d not working in Mavericks - Why?

2013-11-19 Thread Chris H
That's what you do. After finding out it's indeed an issue and you can
replicate yourself report it to that e-mail. But you can also report the
issue at

Hi,

I have seen this discussion about reporting issues coming up now and again.

Is there an interface for reporting issues, or do I have to—after checking with
everyone here that what I am experiencing is indeed an issue—email it to
accessibil...@apple.com?

Thanks.

Ah I’ll report it anyway, if they do flag it as a dupe that will be a good

Take care.

Hi all,

Since I’ve switched to Mavericks, I haven’t been able to use the “jgoto
desktop” hotkey which is VO+shift+D. Has anyone else experienced this, and is
there a workaround (aside from command-tabbing to Finder)?

Thanks.

Forwarding text messages with calendar events embeded for example, how?

2013-11-19 Thread Chris H

Good morning everyone.
Not sure if this is a user error or a bug, but wondering if you can show
me how to forward a text message with embeded links such as calendar
events in them?
I'm asking this because when I double tap on such a message, a menu pops
up with create event, show in calendar, copy and cancel. Unsure of this
I double tap copy.

But then when I came to forward the message, nothing was in the forward.
Any help greatly appreciated. Using iOS 7.0.4 on an iPhone 4s.
Thanks!
