adding audio books to itunes

2009-06-30 Thread Niklas Petersson

Hello everyone, I have started to add some downloaded audio books to
my Itunes library. Some add without any problems, some will not add
at all. They are all recorded in MP3 format, but the naming standards
are not always the same. Any suggestions to have for adding audio
books to Itunes

All help is gratefully received.

Nik

mounting a vmdk image (windows)

2009-06-30 Thread william windels

Hello all,
I have a corrupted vmdk-image, something is wrong with the boot tasks
on this windows-system.

I have fount how to mount my windows image (fat32) with vmdkmount but
it's read-only.
Is there a (safe) way to mount it read/write?
I could perhaps do chmod 777 in the terminal on the Volumemap of the
mounted windows system but perhaps this is a bad idea.

thanx alot!
best regards,
William Windels

2009-06-30 Thread Esther
Hi all,

All of the "Take Control" guides are on sale for half price for the

downloadable PDF guides are $10 or $15 list price, and that includes
minor version updates. They're very readable and you can download
trial excerpts of each guide to sample the material and writing style.

Cheers,

Esther

Re: daisy player for IPhone

2009-06-30 Thread Scott Howell

Will, tell ya what, e-mail accessibil...@apple.com and hit them with
the idea. I encourage you and anyone else to do so and explain the
benefits etc. I have done this and the more folks that ask, the more
likely it will be given consideration. Hey, it would be the first
truly mainstream product on the market. I realize we are a minority,
but you know with a little help, it is possible someone could develop
an application to run on the iPhone or iPod Touch. I'm not saying
Apple has to do it all, but for the purposes of authorizing the
device, it may require a little help on Apple's part, but not entirely
sure. Anything is possible.

Re: daisy player for IPhone

Sorry. The text to speech and gesture recognition require faster
hardware which is currently only in the iPhone 3GS. Many expect a
similar bump to the iPod touch this fall which implies the accessibility
software will then work there as well.

Re: VO accessible FTP Client

2009-06-30 Thread Jenny Kennedy

Thanks guys, I've been needing an FTP program and couldn't remember
what the name of the one I've heard blind mac users talking about. Had
thought it was transmition or some other automotive sounding name. It
is called Transmit though? Very good to know. Thank you
Jenny

Re: Anyone ever serviced an Emac?

2009-06-30 Thread ben mustill-rose

Hey tim and thanks for the reply.
The units don't make the chime sound and I can't here anything come to
life internally.
The cd drive has both its power and ide cables connected but I can't
seem to find a ide cable for the harddrive so i'm assuming that that
has also been removed however I see a spare power connector that would
fit the harddrive.

Based on this and on what you saying about the powrer button, would
you say that these units quite lightly have broken logic boards?

Again, thanks for the reply.

TK: As far as I remember, there's no cable to worry about, pressing
the power button will make contact with the necessary component on the
power supply unit.

TK: I'm a little rusty on these units but if I have time I'll open an
old one up at work just for fun. For the most part, these units are
more expensive to repair than to purchase a new model as what normally
goes wrong is part of the logic board and that's simply too big of a
job to justify the expense. They were quite reliable machines though
and I still have over 60 units working well at the school.

Re: VO accessible FTP Client

2009-06-30 Thread erik burggraaf

Hi, I expect you will soon be berried in recomendations for transmit b
Panic software. It is marvelous, and will handle all types of secure
ftp transfers, as well as syncing your idiscs and .mac accounts and
manual folders. It's your full featured, fully accessible off the
shelf ftp client.

Best,
