Title:
Show the person who uploaded a file to a group

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
When someone uploads a file to a group, the owner becomes the group
and the person who uploaded it is not mentioned anywhere.

It would be beneficial to add that information to track better who's
  uploaded what.

  Changes:

On the artefact details page when coming from a page:
  1. Change "Owner" to "Group owner".
  2. Add "Uploaded by" below and display the name of the person who uploaded
the file.

In the group's file area add "Uploaded by" right above "Permissions"
and display the name of the person.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1821859] [NEW] Remove "Add to friends" text on new page header button

2019-03-27 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

Follow-on to bug #1815829:

Problem only on Mahara master (soon to be 19.04):

There is still the button label "Add to friends" on the profile page of
a user when they allow friends to be auto-added. This shouldn't be the
case. We should only see the icon and the text should be there as tool
tip.

To replicate:

1. Set up two users.
2. User 1 should have the account setting "Friends control" set to "New friends
are automatically authorised".
3. Log in as user 2 and go to the profile page of user 1.
4. Actual result: You see the button "Add to friends" with icon and text (see
attached screenshot).
Expected result: You see the button only with the icon and the text is in a
tool tip that you see when you hover over it.

** Affects: mahara
 Importance: High
 Assignee: Lisa Seeto (lisaseeto)
 Status: Confirmed

** Attachment added: "add_friend.png"

Title:
Note that menu has been expanded

Status in Mahara:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Mahara 17.04+

The "collapsed" state of the Show Main Menu / User Menu / Admin Menu
button should become "Expanded" as the main menu has been expanded.

When a screen reader focuses on the "Show main menu" button for the
first time, the screen reader speaks "Show main menu, collapsed" as it
is collapsed. But when the user presses Enter and the menu expands,
the screen reader still says "Show main menu, collapsed", instead of
  saying "Show main menu, expanded".

It is important to note that on the menu items e.g. Show menu for
content, show menu for portfolio, show menu for groups, the screen
reader is correctly able to speak the collapsed or expanded state of
the menu items. The issue is present only in the main menu,
administration menu, and user menu buttons.

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
We use two different ways of adding files to a text box / resume
sections etc.: One, which allows you to add files from both your
Mahara storage and computer and another one only from the computer.
The latter one is the older one and can still be found in certain
  places.

We should consolidate the occurances to always use the new way of
adding files to be more consistent.

  Best case in point:

When you add a file to your education history, you get the old button.
However, when you edit that entry, you get the new button (see

Title:
  Remove triggers from Mahara database

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
I've created a forum post to discuss this:

  * https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=8324

  Basically, my reasoning is:

  1. Mahara supports two DB types - MySql and Postgres. Each DB has different
syntax when it comes to creating/updating/deleting triggers. This makes it
complicated to develop and maintain.

  2. Mahara already has the concept of events in place. We can move the
functionality of each trigger into an event. We would then have more
control over the event. For example, don't action an event during an
  upgrade.

  3. Triggers make it difficult to see what is actually happening. They
are not transparent. If you weren't aware that there is a trigger on
the table, it can make it difficult to track down why something is
  behaving in a certain way.

We can start slowly by removing one at a time. It doesn't have to happen all
at once.

  Just my thoughts.

  Cheers.

Remove "Add to friends" text on new page header button

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
  Follow-on to bug #1815829:

Problem only on Mahara master (soon to be 19.04):

There is still the button label "Add to friends" on the profile page
of a user when they allow friends to be auto-added. This shouldn't be
the case. We should only see the icon and the text should be there as
  tool tip.

  To replicate:

  1. Set up two users.
  2. User 1 should have the account setting "Friends control" set to "New
friends are automatically authorised".
  3. Log in as user 2 and go to the profile page of user 1.
  4. Actual result: You see the button "Add to friends" with icon and text (see
attached screenshot).
Expected result: You see the button only with the icon and the text is in
a tool tip that you see when you hover over it.

I think we need a "No title" checkbox for the blocks that don't

should be a checkbox on some of the blocks saying stuff like "use the

Title:
Show full introduction from the profile

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  Mahara 15.10+

When a user wrote an introduction and it is longer than a few
characters, it is cut off. However, unless the user puts that
introduction on their profile page, there is no place to see it fully.

Therefore, when you are on the group members page or on "My friends"
and "Find friends", it would be good to display the entire
introduction. If people do tend to write a lot, then maybe we don't
show the introduction directly on the page but only upon a click on
it. Or have a link they can click to expand the introduction.

Title:
Remove "Add to friends" text on new page header button

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Title:
New username isn't checked for spaces when added to LDAP

Status in Mahara:
  Opinion

Bug description:
  Mahara version: 16.10.3

When adding a new user, if you select an institution/authentication
method with LDAP, the usersame is not being checked for
leading/trailing spaces, and it isn't trimmed before being added to
the database. Users can be created with usernames like " newuser ".

If you try to do this with a non LDAP authentication method, it thows
an error and will not continue (although the error message does not
highlight the username field as the source of the error in this case).

I've fixed it locally with trim() around the username value before
  it's put into the databse.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1806524] Re: edit page has duplicated "addblock" in html tags

2019-03-27 Thread Lisa Seeto

Kevin Dibble has posted comments on this change.

Change subject: Bug 1806524: edit page has duplicated "addblock" in html tags

Patch Set 1:

https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/9673/1/htdocs/js/views.js
File htdocs/js/views.js:

Line 999: $('#newblock .cancel, #newblock .deletebutton').on('mousedown
keydown', function(e) {
Hi team.

The dialog box that appears cannot be closed by clicking the "x" at the
top right anymore.

To get this issue - Just click the "text" box on the side (to add a new
text box to the page) to get the dialog to appear. click the "X" at the
top and nothing happens.

Putting this back to "#addblock .deletebutton" resolves as the delete
button is outside the form.
