Re: [mapguide-users] MGOS 2.1 - One(1) good Two(2) bad
After downgrading to MGOS 2.0.2 I am still not able to display my TIF images or any WMS features. Therefore I'll conclude that the problem is in my workflow and will have to go back to searching threads. Supposedly 2.1 can reproject raster imagery vs. 2.0 so I'll probably upgrade again once I figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm starting to favor Dave Wilson's suggestion to run a demo of MG Enterprise with Studio to get things moving quicker. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/MGOS-2-1-One-1-good-Two-2-bad-tp4114766p4141242.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
RE: [mapguide-users] MGOS 2.1 - One(1) good Two(2) bad
I seem to recall having success setting up WMS connectivity with Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise 2010. As far as WMS is concerned, MGOS 2.1 is a "very similar" code base to MGE 2010. WMS can be a little tricky. I would be happy to collaborate with Kenneth to investigate this further. This would certainly not be the first time I have looked at WMS. This might simply be an integration quirk with Maestro and MGOS 2.1. Re: [mapguide-users] MGOS 2.1 - One(1) good Two(2) bad
Hi Dennis, While I haven't invested years into this endeavor as perhaps you and others have, I came into it with the expectation that I could get a website up and running in a few days or weeks, not years, based on what I saw and heard in a presentation. After running into so many issues I am starting to wonder if I should continue, especially not knowing if I'm going to end up with a product that doesn't really suit our needs. So please bear with me in my frustration. Not only do us new users have to work through the learning curve, we also have to deal with defects in the software as it evolves and with the lack of coherent documentation or tutorials to boot. This is my first venture into OpenSource. As for getting Mapguide Studio, we are on subscription for Civil3D, not Map, so I don't know if we are qualified to get Studio. ADESK's subscription service seems to be down right now so I can't find out yet. I'll post again when I know. That could be a life saver. I'll do some more reasearch into the TIF issue. I don't know that it is a Maestro issue. Based on what I'm seeing with MGOS 2.1 and SID's it appears there is a problem on that end that may account for my TIF issues. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/MGOS-2-1-One-1-good-Two-2-bad-tp4114766p4134740.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users

Neil_w, First, most of the folks who have responded to you have spent YEARS with this stuff so I would relax a little on the “I’m all discouraged” line. Our years to your days … really won’t get any traction on this forum. If you have Autodesk subscription service for Map3d 2010 you can download MapGuide Studio 2010 from the Center. I learned this just a couple months ago on this forum and have had subscription service for years. Check it out. I don’t know about your TIF image problem but I have said all that I can possibly say about the MrSID issue. The problem in MY case is and was not Maestro! For a lot of things Maestro is the best tool to be had. PERIOD. I know nothing of WMS servers but I am sure that others have responded to you with their best. r, dennis -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/MGOS-2-1-One-1-good-Two-2-bad-tp4114766p4134436.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users

Yes, I did all of the install steps, checked it all twice, called in the elves and Santa himself to check again. Thank you for your comments Jason. I had thought I had lost my mind completly. My sids come up in Maestro with a "Default" coordinate system. NOT true. They are state plane NAD83(HARN). Maestro also explains that the extents are screwed up. NOT true. I don't mean to be picking on Maestro here, it is not his fault, but when he attempts to render the image directly from his layer editor he tries to do it in METERS and it should be FEET and the extents of the map are 1MM through -1MM another NOT true. Sorry, we just do not allow those negatives here in Florida. :-) MGOS 2.0.2 does just fine with the same files. Just to finish off the next thought, our LizardTech expert using LizardTech software created these sids. Just before I left work yesterday I updated the 2.1 XML for these layers from 2.0.2 but did not have the interactive mgserver set up to output. I will try this later today if the rain stops. I will keep after it. r, dennis -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/MGOS-2-1-One-1-good-Two-2-bad-tp4114766p4118815.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users

Re: [mapguide-users] MGOS 2.1 - One(1) good Two(2) bad
I think (but am not 100% sure) that when you combine 2.1 and the raster provider, something gets messed up when adding images that don't have a coordinate system assigned to them (or interpretable by the GDAL provider) and the image bounds aren't returned correctly. I'm guessing MapGuide is using an API that isn't supported in the FDO provider, or something whacky happened to the provider on the 1.4->1.6 change. I've had good luck with both ECW and GeoTIFF using a config file ("composite" type in Maestro), and defining a CS override. I _may_ have had to generate the config file programatically though to get the correct image bounds though, I'm not sure. Re: [mapguide-users] MGOS 2.1 - One(1) good Two(2) bad
My MrSIDs all worked right out of the box (this was a first for MGOS updates, for me). I had them working fine on a different 2.0 server...made a package of my library, unpacked to the new 2.1 server (different box) and it worked fine. My MrSIDs are all in unmanaged folders, for what it's worth... Good Stuff. 2) Non of my MrSIDs render. Is ANYONE having success with MrSIDs? Would you please share? I even did the ERDAS stuff for ECW support thinking that may help. I also tried the XML used with 2.0.2 no luck. 3) My attempt with fusion lasted until I had more than 20 items in the legend. Same problem with the client getting 100Ks of legend piccys. I would love to work with fusion but if it can’t get past this it is a nogo.
