these could be the system tables of the your datastore...the only users tables that'll appear in the tables section will be those with have spatial fields (this is what i remember from my last work with sql) ... What version of which provider are you using? Are you running SQLExpress or full SQL Server? If it is Express then the service name needs to SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS, if it is Full SQL then just the SERVERNAME... The datastore field automatically populates after you hit the login button and successfully login.
