the same exemption for cops (and some Emergency Services workers) to use cell phones while driving exists in at least some US states as well. the premise is that there is some information they'd rather not share on airwaves where people can listen in as easily (even though it's not as simple to listen in on many agencies with a scanner these days with all their trunking systems,...). cheers! e On 14/Jan/11 05:54, Hendrik Fay wrote: Funnily enough a cop over here is allowed to use his mobile phone whilst driving (I think there are some other exemptions). Appears to have 4 speakers added in the front door panels. Residue from leaking coolant is common at the front left side, in front and below the #1 plug. [MBZ] Diesel S Class making a comeback.
Hey Guys, I read that they showed a new S Class diesel that is due to make a return to the US market this year. S350. Should be interesting. Regular gas is up to $114.3 per/litre here today, and diesel is around $112. For months, it seems diesel was more expensive than regular, but I see regular is now edging back up over diesel, by a few cents per/L. I really think if Mercedes got behind offering diesels in all their models, they would really take off. Not everyone wants an electric car, I know I sure don't!! You do see more and more diesel engines here, in models that Mercedes offer them in. Lots of GL and MLs with diesels. Yeah, I just read that too. To be fair, you need to compare diesel fuel costs vs. premium gas as the last MB to burn regular was the 380 engine series. Re: [MBZ] Diesel S Class making a comeback.
According to what I read, Canadians are a bit more accepting of diesels than Americans, at the moment. Seems Mercedes has plans though, which includes diesels making up to 10% of their sales in the US, and 20% in Canada, in the not too distant future. So your diesel C Class might possibly be on its way one of these days. ;-) My one request to Mercedes, is not to cheap down their S Class too much. There seems to be this perception in North America, where if you want a diesel, you want cheap. I'd like to see a diesel S Class, but I'd like to see all options available on it, that are available on the gas models. Just because someone doesn't feel the need to burn premium in a V12 that's sitting in city traffic, doesn't mean they don't have an appreciation for burl walnut, nappa leather, and other fine things. Might even be easier to justify splashing out on some of those options, when you think about all the money you'll be saving on fuel. hee hee Ed 300E On 15 January 2011 21:14, Dimitri Seretakis dsereta...@yahoo.com wrote: Wish they would send us a 4 banger c class diesel with a manual transmission. My interpretation of the ad was that they pulled the engine and threw it away, whatever chassis it used to reside in. A 1985 SEL would be a W126, as I said. I was thinking about parting out a running 450SEL. I mainly want it for the interior.
