Re: [MBZ] OT - Morgages

2011-06-24 Thread Robert Bigham
Long ago, I read, particularly in Consumer Reports, how credit unions
are a much better deal for their members, etc.

I tried to put that into practice. My sad experience is that I always
could do better at a bank. That's even before an old friend became
president of my bank.

I don't know why, but I do know what.

Re: [MBZ] OT - Morgages

2011-06-24 Thread OK Don
I put an inquiry into the credit union about rates, etc. They still haven't
responded (someone will call you -- ). Mean time, my wife went shopping
at several local banks, came home approved for a 3.8% loand - I just had to
add my signiture to the papers. Fast, pleasant, curtious, nd effecient
process (so far).

Wow, that is pretty good. We just did a refi yesterday at 4.25%, which
I though was a good deal. Dropped our payment quite a bit for a shorter
term too.

2011-06-25 Thread Curt Raymond
Wish I could refi, we're stuck at 7.35%. I can't find anywhere that will refi
at 170% of value. I'll need to pay off something like $25k more before anybody
will even look at it. Currently the principle payback is like $210/mo. I've
been adding a little to it but we've got our 10 anniversary vacation coming up
so I'm socking away some for that.
