Re: [MBZ] Running wire from trunk, '93 W124
Sorry Don... I only own W124's and haven't worked on any W126's. Those pics are from my cars where I am still in the process of doing the stereo install. Maybe this winter I'll get to complete the blue car! Last winter my plans were derailed by the timing cover fiasco (for those of you who remember - ugh.) =) +dm > -- > Date: Tue, 8 Nov 2005 14:35:25 -0600 > From: Don & Teresa Merriman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [MBZ] Running wire from trunk, '93 W124 > > Dave, way kool > Is that information, fotos, etc., available for the 126? > Gracias > Don

Re: [MBZ] Running wire from trunk, '93 W124
First remove the lower cushion by depressing the two orange tabs and lifting it straight out. In the lower corner of the backrest you'll see an 8mm bolt on each side, and there's another one underneath and behind the center armrest. Once they're removed you can pull upward on the backrest to remove it. The headrests need to be lowered though. -Aaron 1987 300D 1987 300TD

Dave, This is helpful but it doesn't tell me how to remove the upper seat. Any idea on how to do so? Thanks! Re: [MBZ] Running wire from trunk, '93 W124
The 124 chassis cars have cable channels on either side of the vehicle running all the way to the trunk. If you remove the seat bottom, you can see where the channels go under the seat (you will see vacuum lines for the trunk and gas flap locks, and electrical wires). You should be able to use these channels for your wire runs. J.B. At 09:30 AM 11/8/2005, you wrote: Guys, What's the best way to get a radio wire from the trunk to the cabin of a '93 W124?
