I second the motion - 200KB please.

Nowadays, there is a link in the email and you can download it if you
want. If you don't want, it doesn't have to be downloaded.

So having a finite limit does make sense (Kaleb would be inconvenienced
if someone sent a 95 megabyte file, like I used to be able to at the Lab),
but it certainly does need to be more thank 40 kB.

Kaleb, Philip's 200 kB limit makes a lot of sense. Can you change the
limit from 40 kB to 200 kB?

 Thanks,

 Craig

 Are you sure?

Yes. I am sure there is a limit. Craig's recent timing chain
post was 131.4k. It was held for approval. A 200k limit would
have allowed it to pass.

No - I'm not sure it's 40k - but I think that's the Mailman list
server default.

You are on dial up (or some limited bandwidth
Internet connection). There was no size limit for a while
initially, and several people were very vocal about their
 displeasure of it.

Are you saying you want it to stay at 40k? Or are you
advocating no limit? I'm suggesting keeping the limit, but
raising it to a more usable level. Big attachments would still
require approval. Small ones wouldn't require Kaleb's attention.

Or am I misunderstanding you

I was asking if you are sure you want to raise the size limit on attachments.
Yourself, perhaps Mitch, and I think someone else (Jim C.?) have limited speeds
on their Internet connection. I have pretty fast DSL, so I don't care so much
about email attachment size.

Ah! I understand now. *grin* That's part of why I picked
200k. Bigger than tiny, but still small enough even I won't
complain.

why U strip out my pixture?

Because it isn't text. The list is plain text only. HTML is
required to put an image in line so it shows up in the middle
of the words. That is removed when the list software re-mails
the post. If the photos is attached, and is less than 40k (I
think), it will pass through. Bigger and Kaleb has to approve
it.

Say - Kaleb. Why do you have it limited to 40k? Set it to,
say, 200k and it would allow us a bit more room to attach stuff.
