Box solar is not the bestest for pool heating. I used to sell a system that
used coiled black tubing that did a bang up job of kicking up pool therms.
You want lots of surface area and time under the photons for caloric increase.
The tubes were 0.5" to 2cm OD, depending on load, coiled into 8' circles with
0.25 inch gaps. Mount on a southern rooftop in series of four to how many you
could fit. Plumb it into the outlet end of the filtration system, upgrade the
pump by 0.5HP to 1HP to get the head needed. Plumb back in a few feet down
stream from the heater. On a cloudless day you can boost temps by 10*c in a
few hours.

Re: [MBZ] Now PV Re: Italian tune up with a turbo CIUIHBshDy

2016-03-21 Thread clay via Mercedes
I was reading an article about grid collapse. The way the grid is run now
there is a greater chance of mass blackouts due to minor failures in the system
that cascade as power is shunted to lines that are unable to handle the
capacity. Having the option to pull the switch and go off grid would be a nice
way to weather that calamity.

PNW was selling electrons to CA while the brown outs were going on. Local
utility was making big bank on the spot market for months. All the Eco power
is not base load, so creates chaos as it tries to get on the grid. The
propellor farms sit idle at times while hearty winds are blowing to either
appease the hydro producers or for lack of ability to move electrons where the
need is greater.

Three big grids in North America. Providing power to most of urban Canada, USA
and a bunch of Mexico. East, West, and TX. We need to find a better way.
