[OT] Thumbs up!

2003-08-06 Thread Shari
As many of you know, I've been Mac based for years. Metacard has
allowed me to go cross platform.

I recently released my first two Windows games (both have been
available for Mac for quite awhile).

The Mac versions are pop picks on Download.com and Tucows, and have
won quite a few kudos in the Mac world. The Windows versions just
won their first kudos... five stars each from Paul's Picks :-)

Just thought I'd share the happy news.

RE: Script Limits

2003-08-06 Thread Ken Ray
I would still like to know exactly what the new changes will affect,
in case it is something that my current projects use.

Shari,

What it means is that any of your projects that use the phrase set the
script of ... will fail. You used to be able to do this, but the
scripts had to be less than 10 lines. With the new changes, you won't be
able to do it at all.

Re: Script Limits

2003-08-06 Thread jbv

I would still like to know exactly what the new changes will affect,
in case it is something that my current projects use.

Telling the truth, I must confess that I share Shari's worries.

I'm afraid this script limit thing might be the first of a long
list of unexpected (and undocumented / unexplained) changes,
and discussions about them might clutter this list in coming
weeks...

Last but not least, I think that getting messages from Kevin
saying we're working on this and that... If anyone has any
objections to this, please contact me off list. isn't the best
strategy / politics to convince MC users to upgrade to Rev...
And certainly not the best official answer to all the questions
raised lately...
As Shari wrote, we need an official FAQ showing that there
are still ppl at RR reading this list, and not only a bunch of
biznessmen busy with marketing strategies...

Yes, I know I'm overreacting a bit, but better now than too
late...

SoCal RevDevCon: August 26

2003-08-06 Thread Richard Gaskin
The next Southern California RevDevCon will be on Tuesday, August 26, at 7pm
here at the Fourth World Embassy in downtown Los Angeles.

These RevDevCons are small informal gatherings of Revolution and MetaCard
developers in which we talk code, solve problems, and enjoy the rare treat
of seeing listees in person.

The agenda for the meeting:

7:00 - 7:30: Introductions, gab about code.

7:30 - 8:30: We'll walk 50 yards to the restaurant in this
complex, Barabara's (which has an excellent
wine list) for dinner and more gabbing.

8:30 - ?: We return to the Embassy where Geoff Canyon will
give a presentation about some cool new stuff
he's been working on, after which we'll gab some
more and eventually call it a night.

If you'd like to attend just show up. If you need directions drop me an
email and I'll send 'em to you. At the moment I know Ken Ray will be there,
as well as Geoff and myself of course. With any luck we'll have at least
our half-dozen regulars and hopefully a few newcomers as well.

See ya' then
