As I phone is out of my budget.
In this regard I have some confusion.
Should I purchase nokia or android?
 Why?
If android then which is the best available handset under 10k?
Many friends have recommended xolo q700 on the list but I have read on
internet that xolo is not an advisable option to buy.
As the phone doesn’t work well after 2 3 months.
And after sell service is also not fine
Generally I use phone for calling, message, reading, music, internet,

In this regard which mobile should I purchase?
I hope this time I will get proper guidance from experience friends.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Best android phone.

2013-06-04 Thread Srikanth Kanuri
my personal opinion is that we should get accustomed to full touch.
there are only 2 to 3 devises present now in market with qwerty and
going to disappear hopefully very soon. with android jb 4.2.1 being a
good accessible version, we should aim at getting one which is
accessible. i have ordered UMI x2 and unfortunately awaiting its
delivery. UMI s1 seems to be a good phone with most of its elements
being stock android. listen this review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsV70qRdxRs

note there are problems with UMI product delivery chain due to its new
launch. company Indian sources told that they would be in proper order
from July first week onwards.

Exciting news for Android and Google lovers came out of the annual Google I/O
developers conference yesterday. The keynote speech from CEO Larry Page,
which lasted more than 3 hours, announced a new variant on the Samsung Galaxy
S4. The new Google version of the popular smartphone will run on a stock
Android operating system, a potentially appealing prospect for a lot of tech
 geeks.
The Samsung Galaxy series has built a huge following due to its impressive
hardware. On the S4, a 1080p screen with 441 ppi, a 13 megapixel camera, and
a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor are among its most impressive pieces
 of hardware.
The stock Android Jellybean 4.2 OS on the upcoming Google S4 eliminates the
Nexus branding that other Galaxy devices have held and comes with a
completely unlocked bootloader. The themes and skins that have identified
Galaxy software will be replaced by a basic and direct Android interface, and
it will have no preinstalled apps bogging it down. That will make for a
cleaner and more customizable phone, ideal for developers who seek the
capability to modify their devices (hence its announcement at the developers’
 conference).
Perhaps because of Google’s backing or perhaps because of the lack of Nexus
branding, the stripped-down, unlocked Google S4 will carry a lower price tag
than other Galaxy iterations. When it hits the stores June 26, ATT and
T-Mobile members will be able to pick up this developer’s dream device for a
 relatively light $649.

additional warranty, you need to pay around 11000 to get a replaced handset.

hi, Voice-over works perfectly for me during a call. move your phone
away from your ear then the screen gets activated, now if you are in
phone app, the focus lands on keypad. to hide the keypad tap the hide
keypad at the bottom right part of the screen just above the home
button and access other options.

as long as your phone detects that it is near your face it deactivates
your screen.
If you are using a head-phone Voice-over should function normally.

for IVR calls, the only way i find to enter numbers is to have the
phone away from ear. after the out speaker gets activated, you can
dial the desired number listening to voice-over. looks hard in the
beginning but after bit practice seems ok for me.

 Hi Taha,

You can simply press the home button and you'll be taken to the home
screen even while you're on a call. You can access all features from
 there.
To disconnect a call, you have to double tap twice with 2 fingers anywhere

on the screen. Or you can also press the 'end' button which is towards the

 bottom end of the screen.

hi, Voice-over works perfectly for me during a call. move your phone
away from your ear then the screen gets activated, now if you are in
phone app, the focus lands on keypad. to hide the keypad tap the hide
keypad at the bottom right part of the screen just above the home
 button and access other options.

as long as your phone detects that it is near your face it deactivates
 your screen.

Re: [Mobile.AI] android dual sim mobile

2012-11-25 Thread Srikanth Kanuri
thanks for that would try. really don't know about quick launch
feature would take a look on it.

1. would the quick launch feature work on the full touch phones also?
if so what would be the default key there.

2. had anyone tried the Samsung galaxy s duos with ICS on it? if so
can anyone give a feedback on its accessibility?

On 11/25/12, Aruni Sharma arunisha...@me.com wrote:
1 till 2.3 at least the problem of inaccessible ikons does exist. no doubt
about that. However, I prefer using the quick launch feature under
application settings where you can define at least 27 shortcuts for apps and
can activate these apps by pressing the search key in conjunction with
letters A to Z and the zero key. this is definitely the fastest way of
opening the apps. 5512 thankfully has this search key as a dedicated
hardware button. one can also use eyes-free shell for various purposes i.e
opening apps, using calling shortcuts, opening different settings menus,
toggling various features like bluetooth, wifi etc.
2 for disconnecting calls you can enable the option under the accessibility
settings. the lock key can then be used for disconnecting calls. you can
also use apps like shakeCall for managing calling functions. 3. see point
 no. 1
 4. no need to use samsung apps as there are better alternatives available.

non-customized versions are definitely preferable, but nexus is beyond most
people's reach. another handset micromax super canvas 2 a110 has stock
version but no report so far about the performance of micromax.

alternative please let me know on this. many Icons on home screen are
not accessible and talk back reports blank in many circumstances.

 2. i couldn't find a way to end call using talk back. this could be
possible as far as my knowledge is concerned only through touch
interface and talk back couldn't be used with touch in version 2.3.

 3. even in menu, while navigating through apps talk back often reports
 blank and unlabeled apps.

 4. many native apps of Samsung are clearly inaccessible.

as you are aware, the problem with customizations had been that, many
parts of phone are becoming inaccessible. yes all major companies are
customizing the native Android but i prefer phones like Nexus versions
for faster updates and better performance though there exists no
 physical navigation.

these are my findings only and others may have different experience.
please update me if i am wrong.
