[MMouse]: Oliva Tremor Control
Oliva Tremor Control is playing the Middle East on the 29th for anybody who's wondering. Does anyone know who's opening for them? From this list it seems like Modest Mouse has a decent following in Boston, have they ever played a show out here?
Re: [MMouse]: MM and LAL in SF
I LOVE Love as Laughter. I would KILL to see them at Bottom of the Hill with Modest Mouse. Sigh. The good shows always happen in the city Im not currently living in. I am flying out for Coachella, though... Karina
[MMouse]: people posing as indie policemen
apparently, to mr wm. a richards, at least, noticing a "indie" song (loose term, at least when stereolab is involved), is grounds for verbal spanking by the indie policemy point in commenting to the indie commersh thread was just to add my own observations, never did i or anyone else mention the demise of the indie world because built to spill or elliot smith gets played in sears, or at the piercing pagoda... no, i did not get on my soapbox and rant about the demise of all things halllowed and true in an albini-esque fashionall i said was i heard stereolab in a volvo commersh if i liked the orb, i would have mentioned them instead...or spiritualized, as they were involved too maybe some of the list ought to spend more time detuning their guitars and rebuilding their moogs ,rather than picking apart meaningless posts by random consumers remember there's no me in indie, only 2 i's , staring back at you.(kinda chilling, isn't it) everything is not nice, but for the most part 3cd/10dollars sets are pretty great... das freshmaker, moneymatt

A lot of us have > college radio to rely on, and/or the internet, but we can't live in an indie > vacuum can we? plus..i've discovered that people who listen to big bands really don't give a flying crap about indie bands if they're played on a commercial or on tv or what have you. the media wasn't how i discovered the music i listen to and i think it's the same for alot of people. i think indie bands who've stayed conveniently located at their indie labels without concernering themselves with 'breaking through' on 120 minutes know what they're doing, so i doubt being shown or played in corporate media is really gonna effect their music. - amy
