This is my fault. I'm the maintainer in Ubuntu. I meant to fix the bugs
first and then submit patches, but work got in the way. I'll file bugs

Michael,

I will re-iterate that top-posting is considered rude on mailing lists.
Please post in-line or on the bottom. This helps keep the consistency
of the thread readable.

Secondly, please don't expect bugs to be fixed if they are filed in
launchpad. This is a gnome project and we only look at gnome's bugzilla
for issue tracking. I would gladly look at your issues if you open bugs
at http://bugzilla.gnome.org . You should complain to your distro that
they are not pushing issues upstream.

Thanks,

Rogue,

I will mention that you should not top post on a mailing list. It is
easier for people to follow a thread if comments are in-line, or at the
bottom.

Sounds like your distro is still packaging the old openvpn client. We
have addressed this issue and it is fixed in subversion for both trunk
and the NETWORKMANAGER_0_6_0_RELEASE branch. We have decided to use a
modal advanced dialog for optional settings.

Re: New OpenVPN interface

2007-04-23 Thread Rogue

Hi Jon,

I was trying to configure the Open VPN plugin today and faced some
usability issues. Firstly, my laptop has a 1280x800 screen resolution.
So, when I expand the optional configuration node, the UI goes beyond
my screen size and there is no way for me to work with it. Either the
UI should utilize scroll bars or should prefer to get it out in a
separate window.

Anyone else faced this issue?

later,
Rogue

Using NM 0.6.4, FC6 + Gnome

New OpenVPN interface

2007-02-24 Thread Jon Nettleton
Attached are the patches to the openvpn gui I promised. I think they
provide a simplistic default interface with the ability to expose the
numerous configuration options needed by the vpn clients.

Some Notes:

The patch against trunk includes my fixes to make import-export work
properly as well as the gui changes.

I read up on the details of the Direction flag for TLS-Auth, and
apparently it can be any of those options. Most the how-to's show
Server as 0 and Client as 1 but really the client just has to be the
opposite of the server, or both could be none. So for now I will leave
those radio buttons in the config.

The advanced dialog is modal and transient on the nm-vpn-properties
window. I couldn't find a quick and easy way to figure out if it was
launched from a druid or editor window.

Add other options to the vpn clients. ( If people could bugzilla these
I would appreciate it ).
