You uninstalled Gnome? If that's what you did, you didn't have to.
The program should be in /usr/bin/jpilot. Try 'whereis jpilot'
As for connectivity, do you have a /dev/pilot object? JPilot will look for
the Palm there, hence the command making a link to it, and then changing the
permissions. I didn't put the commands anywhere - they just needed doing as a
one-off.
Also, when you are ready to use JPilot, it seems to need both the button in
the app and the one on the cradle pressing to work.

Thanks! I have uninstalled Gnome and installed JPilot! Your right, it
does look allot like Palm on Windows. All I have to do now is resolve my
connectivity issue.

I used JPilot instead - it looks a lot like the Palm app on Windows. I
also
had to do these:
#ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/pilot
#chmod 666 /dev/ttyS0

I use my Palm extensivly and although I like Linux, I have not
figured
out how to get Knome-Pilot installed on my Linux box, yet it is suppose
to
be in the Mandrake 8.1 release. I'm sure there is a web page or
something
that tells all. Can someone just point me in the right direction
please.
Thank you. I hate to admit this, but I'm more of a CLI person.
