[ns] [MANET] Lucent WaveLAN vs. 802.11 !?

2006-09-06 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Hello,

I have a few questions concerning IEEE 802.11 simulation using NS :

First, the 914 Mhz Lucent WaveLAN DSSS radio interface exists in NS. All the
examples simulating this technology use the Mac/802_11 Class, but IEEE
802.11 is not implemented in the 914MHz Lucent WaveLAN. Is this a problem ?
If I intend to simulate the IEEE 802.11 Lucent WaveLAN, what should I define
(new Classes or simply change the values of CPThresh_, CSThresh_, RXThresh_,
Rb_ , Pt_ , freq_ , L_ what should the new values be ?)

Why is NS not fully appropriate to simulate the real behavior of a 802.11
network ? Probably because of the propagation model itself, but is it the
only reason ?

Best regards
Alex

[ns] [MANET] RANDOM motion, connection CBR sources - Each simulation

2006-09-03 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Hi everybuddy,
I want to have a fully random scenarion in square area of 50 mobile nodes...
But every simulation yields the same output ..
Each time I simulate, how can I have:
a.. different random CBR source each time
  b.. different connection
  c.. different mobility pattern
a.. also random speed (0-20 m/s) too
  d.. pause time = 0 sec (I mean)
Thanx in advance
Alex

[ns] MANET Any DoS ATTACK to Routing

2006-06-04 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Hi everyone,
Due to versatile kinds of simulations and research on security and Intrusion
detection, the source code of the attacks written on NS-2 (modified C++ code)
must be so AVAILABLE and routine...
I will highly appreciate you if you can send me the files of malicious agents
(DSRagent.cc and ...) that perform these DoS attacks of routing:
a.. Black Hole (Especialy) [I'VE FOCUSED]
  b.. Gray Hole
c.. FFRR (False Frequent Routing Request)
  d.. JellyFish
  e.. etc.
Thanks in advance
Cheers,
Alex Nixad

Re: [ns] MANET Error! just by changing AODV to DSR!

2006-06-02 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Thank you Virginia ...
I did this modification, and the simulation has started successfully, and
simulating finished after more than 1 hour ...
My simulation time is just 900 sec!
I don't know what is wrong with CMU model ...
Why does it long too much?!
Also TRACE file became so large!!! ... Before with AODV was about 1.37MB,
NOW it's become 9.8MB!
king regards,
Alex Nixad.

 Hi,

You need change this parameter: set opt(ifq) Queue/DropTail/PriQueue.
 Change to set opt(ifq) CMUPriQueue

 Virginia.

 Hi everyone,
I'm simulating a ad hoc network with 50 random mobile nodes ... and 15
 random CBR traffic ...
The simulation is successful under AODV protocol; but when I just define
 DSR
routing protocol for same network, it FAILS with following ERROR:
  Segmentation fault core dumped
 Kind regards,
 Alex Nixad

[ns] MANET Modified DSR meanwhile DSR

2006-05-30 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Hi everyone,
In my simulation, 50 random mobile nodes are working under DSR routing protocol
...

By a reason, few RANDOM nodes have to treat a MODIFED DSR (so I've editted
DSRagent.cc as DSR_2.cc in DSR2 folder)
I wanna implement these different routing protocols SIMULTANEOUSLY in my
testbed : DSR beside modified DSR

How can I FLAG in TCL file that one or few node uses MODIFIED dsragent.cc
(DSR_2.cc) and rest use the NORMAL dsragent.cc?

Regards,
Alex Nixad.

[ns] ! NS2 - Forum Suggestion (GENERAL!)

2006-05-21 Thread S. Alex Nixad

Dear all,
Is there any FORUM for NS-2?
This routine of EMAIL sending and receiving is not perfect ... bad performance:

1.Many of questions are so frequent (e.g. which version of NS2 on which release
of Linux...)
Even some questions have asked long ago, then NOW REPEATED QUERY WITHOUT ANSWER
...

2.'Coz in the Mail Archive, finding the related answer regards to their SUBJECT
is TIME-CONSUMING

With FORUM, all of unnecessary traffic and time to send repeated query will be
eliminate.

S. Alex Nixad
