Re: Vipre upgrade to 4.0
I was a beta tester for the home product. It was great!!! SO, a day or two after release, I did the upgrade... SBS had just released an upgrade to V4, so I installed that. Almost immediately, SBS realized it was a really bad update and pulled it. Too late for me... After serveral hours of phone and email support, all is well, and it does work better than V 3.1 did. One thing, though - if you wish to push out updated defs to agents, you select Check for updates rather than Force updates. Using the former (check for), remote agents take updates quickly. Using the latter (force), they never seemed to update. -- Richard D. McClary Systems Administrator, Information Technology Group ASPCA® 1717 S. RE: Vipre upgrade to 4.0
The only problem I had was compatibility with windows 2000 server. I did not find this out until I started to install and got an OS not suppored error message. A quick call to support verified that due to eol for 2000 server it was no longer supported. I had to temporarily install the latest version on an xp box(were a small shop) until my new servers arrive. Since then its working just fine. Once setup, auto deploy took over and within a day I had all clients upgraded. No bsod's or errors of any kind.
