Re: [opensuse] UNKNOWN FORMAT FOR JPEGS IN KONQUEROR (How do I repair Konqueror)

2007-04-30 Thread Chris Steve
I all ready tried the solution below before I asked this post and it
didn't work.
All of my photos, when opened in Konqueror, are read as text messages
instead of photos and this happens globally, not just with a few random
photos.
I was going to try to uninstall/reinstall konqueror to see if it fixes
the problem, but i get warnings about dependency issue if I remove
konqueror, so I am hesitant to do it.

 Hi guys,
I am new to this community help thing, so please bare with me...

I can't view jpegs in Konqueror. It does not recognize the format.
I think I accidentally changed the setting for jpegs in Konqueror, but I
am not sure exactly what it was.
I can view jpegs in digicam, but not in konqueror.
When I do a properties in konqueror, for format it is unknown.
I think it is looking at the jpegs as a text document.
What settings do I need to change back for konqueror to see my jpegs as
photos again, instead of text documents ?

I have similar problem, but with jpg

on my 10.1 install, only jpeg displays in the internal viewer with all
the exifs infos, so I simply add the *.jpg to the jpeg profile

Steve,
I don't think I've seen this mentioned, but have you tried removing all
your old settings files, etc for Konq in your /home/user/.kde
directory? Seems like with the trouble you are having, it would just
be best to start fresh with Konq. Reinstalling won't help, since
you'll still be using your same old user settings.

You could also create a new user, where a new .kde directory will be set
up, then you can test.

regards,
Lee
