Re: Fun with Artifacts
Doug, When I was shopping for a digital camera, I settled on the Olympus C-2000Z, due to money I was able to spend. One reason I went for the Olympus was the availability to use external flash. Look on the side of the camera for a small round button. If you pull this button off you will find a pc sync, I believe that the 3030 should have this. I use my 2000 on a bracket with my Sunpak Auto 522 flash. Works fine. To me, this is better than a hot shoe except that there is no provision for ttl, etc. I believe the 3030 should have this feature since it is basically the same camera body. Re: Fun with Artifacts
Hi Ted, On the 3030, there is a socket on the side, but it's for the dedicated Oly external flash. Too bad they dropped the PC socket from this model, because otherwise it's not a bad camera. thanks, Doug Quoting Ted Beilby [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Doug, When I was shopping for a digital camera, I settled on the Olympus C-2000Z, due to money I was able to spend. Re: Digicam, Re: Fun with Artifacts
Oh thanks, Tonghang, but don't jump quite yet. If this camera is any indication, at least on the consumer level, digital is entirely too inconsistent to be any real competition for film. I particularly like pots.jpg but it's obvious that those digital cameras are crappy for portraiture. In hat1.jpg it made your model appear totally lifeless with no vitality whatsoever. Re: Fun with Artifacts
To include a bit more info, the Oly doesn't have a hot shoe or PC socket, so I was not able to interface with the studio lights (a number of Novatrons) for these shots. So these, and many others in the files, were lit with modeling lamps on a few of the Nova's. Later I used the onboard flash of the Oly to slave the big lights, but I've not yet been happy with the results.
