Re: OT: Need help with flower identification. Urgently!

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the tip. It does have a stamen and pistil like the Passion
Flowers that are illustrated on those pages. However, none of those are
hardy enough to survive here in Michigan where temperatures usually
drop to -10 F in the winter. Of course there are many varieties that
aren't shown on the pages. I think the climate rules out orchids as
well. The lily family is a possibility. I think the leaves and stems
are similar to some lilies. But it remains a mystery.

I did a quick Google and found this page:

http://www.passionflow.co.uk/species.htm

You can go through the species list at the top and see if you find
this exact one.

on PhotoNet. Hope someone here can identify it.

Some form of lily, possibly a star lily variant...

Not sure about that. The stamens don't look right to me; I think it
looks closer to an orchid.

Here is a picture of the one in my living room; sorry I don't have a
picture of its leaves.

Although it's much simpler than most species, it reminds me most of a passion
flower.

Thanks Stan. That makes sense. The leaves are spikey like an oriental
lily.
