I have done some real quick testing on the istD,not quite the 180 effect,but i knew that from looking at it with Mark, Bill, Bob S. and Frank at the GFM museum this past summer. I bought it for B&W shots,so it looks like it was worth it. My version is the K mount,with M focus, and the three filters. Mostlikely use it with the PZ-1. Thanks for the info. I was using the M42 version of the lens that i've had to "break" :-) I've open that back part of the lens, took out the pint that closes the diafragm and closed the lens back. This made the lens always close the diafragm when you close it with the ring and open it when you open it. Like the A/M switch on some lenses. I take it from the fact that you were successfully able to use it, that the back side of the Zenitar does not hit the mirror on an ME Super? Was this with or without the back-side filter on the lens? Very nice shot, BTW.
