What is a bit surprising to me is the almost snake-like body, i.e. without 
the variation of the width and/or any type of bends/kinks in the middle, 
that are typical for lizards (unlike snakes).

Yes, Igor, they are quite snake like. There is another species with 
rudimentary legs which wriggles along much like a snake.

Nice shots.  Looks very similar to the sole species of skink I sometimes 
see locally - I was happy to see one last Friday,  first one I've 
spotted in a few years.
