And that is just me and off the top of my head. I can recall hearing of many NYC meetups and others, often on occasion of visitors from outside the U.S. passing through on business or vacation. A very long time ago, long before I acquired my Asahi Pentax S-1a (1968 while statioed in Vicenza IT via an unindicted co-conspirator in unit security who made regular round trips to Japan, taking orders an d shekels and returning with hardware)(couldn't afford a Honeywell Spotmatic) I messed around with the likes of pocket Instamatics and home-brew pocket-sized pinholes, so when an opportunity slapped me upside the heid, I found myself with a Holga, which in due time bred a Diana, and away I went (with lots of encouragement from the likes of Ted Orland!). Stan, I think you summed up the Pentax list group in exactly the terms I would use. There is a degree of camaraderie that I am not sure would be found always even in a group which could meet physically, and that's a wondrous thing! Like you, Jan and I on our travels have met up with Ann in New York, Larry and John in San Francisco, Mark in Boston, a whole bunch including Christine in Chicago, Dario in Ravenna, and all but one of our Australian members, current or past at various times. I note that normally, whenever one of our group has an issue, people do reach out, as was done for me when my daughter -in-law died, then again when my daughter died, but it does not always happen. I made note to myself to ensure I do in future.
