Re: eBay payment methods / Zenitar fisheye
The guy in Japan who bought my K1000SE used BidPay. In just a few days I received a Western Union money order in the mail (in US dollars, of course). It was quick and painless. Actually, I has my auction listed as being for U.S. bidders only, but after what this guy bid for my camera I wasn't about to quibble! BidPay worked great. I called them up on the phone, and they told me to get in touch with PayPal directly. PayPal people sent me email, and they told me they can do the "manual confirmation" process. It goes like this. You make a photocopy of your photo ID and the credit card statement with PayPal transaction. Then you send them to PayPal, and they can confirm your credit card in about 10 business days. I had a little trouble at first, but now I'm in the process and it seems to be working for me. :-) Sincerely, Take Ueda, Osaka, Japan [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://members.tripod.co.jp/hayatama/photo/ - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Paul wrote: > If they $1 shows up on your visa then code should its just a part of the > paypal name on the visa card statement. The $1 showed up all right but no code, only Paypal. When registering they send you an e-mail where they warn you of not calling your credit card company for getting the code. The whole thing smell fishy A company that doesn't reply to e-mails is certainly suspect. Pål - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Re: eBay payment methods / Zenitar fisheye
Hi, I did this and it worked fine, they debited the $1 off my visa, but then credited it to my paypal account, so i used the $1 on my first transaction. If they $1 shows up on your visa then code should its just a part of the paypal name on the visa card statement. I also had a problem with my visa not working for a while and i called them on the telephone and i found the staff to be very very helpful. Theres a catch. I signed up in january. It cost $1. You're supposed to get a random four digit code with the charge on your credit card. They never did. I called my bank; no code. No code on the invoince from the bank. I've send them several e-mails but they never reply. So it seems like a scam. You get thousands of peoples credit card number and charge all of them $1. Very few are going to complain about this kind of money but in total it sums up thousands of dollars. I'm still worried that they have my credid card number. I'm considering contacting Visa. RE: eBay payment methods / Zenitar fisheye
I've used BidPay http://www.bidpay.com/ a few times. I live in UK and most auctions are US or Canadian. The advantage is that you pay by credit card which is the easiest way of doing currency conversions. The seller gets notified direct from BidPay that a money order is on its way so they can ship the goods. It costs the buyer $5 flat for payments less that $100 or 2.25% +$5 for orders over $100. The seller pays nothing so has no reason to object to this method. I too have been watching those Zenitars - there seem to be lots of them for sale. Would be interested in your views appearing here once you've had chance to use it. Regards Peter > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Frits J.
