Re: What's the best high speed internet option?
I have Virgin mobile no contract, I signed up and still have the $25 rate which has now been changed to $35 You get 300 minutest a month and unlimited web/data/email which they call unlimited=2.5GB was 5 then 3 I never use that much, so I am very happy, but they do have a 1200minute for $45 and Unlimited minutes for $55 On 5/10/2012 5:04 PM, j...@actionline.com wrote: . What's the best high speed internet option? I currently have Qwest/Century-Link DSL with my home phone land line, and no internet with my little-used, pay-as-you-go cell phone, or for my laptop and tablet other than wireless whenever we travel and find a connection. So, what other options might be good to consider? i.e. is there a viable, cost-effective mobile hot-spot internet alternative for multiple devices that I could use both at home and on the go? --- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss . --- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss

Huh? Unlimited is 2.5GB??? What happens when you try to use 2.5GB + 1K? If it fails then that's not unlimited, IMHO! -Original Message- I have Virgin mobile no contract, I signed up and still have the $25 rate which has now been changed to $35 You get 300 minutes a month and unlimited web/data/email which they call unlimited=2.5GB was 5 then 3 --- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss

Speaking as a streaming music addict (paid subscriber to last.fm, and I have the html5.grooveshark.com site bookmarked on my phone), I'd blow through that veeery easily. :) (It's currently the 11th, and my bandwidth meter is at 1.5 gigs) Adam On 11 May 2012 12:13, Carruth, Rusty rusty.carr...@smartstoragesys.comwrote: Huh? If you reach 2.5GB of data in a month, you will receive a text message letting you know your data speeds will be reduced for the rest of your plan month. You can check how much data you've used at any time during the month by logging in to your account I believe most if not all carriers define what unlimited is. you can check out the info here http://www.virginmobileusa.com/cell-phone-plans/beyond-talk-plans.jsp# I do not like to pay ungodly amounts for a phone I don't use that much for talking. Since I've got this play a year and a half ago, I mostly use the web on it, I've never gone over my minutes or the data. Obviously your mileage may vary. As far as I know it is the cheapest plan around for that much data. On 5/11/2012 12:13 PM, Carruth, Rusty wrote: Huh? Unlimited is 2.5GB??? What happens when you try to use 2.5GB + 1K? Do you know what network they are using? Have you traveled? If so how was your access or availability of a signal? HackFest Call for Recommendations
I have been unable to determine the status of the the MakerBench facilities, after getting a second cancellation notice from Dean Franks STACS Presentation allegedly because MakerBench was moving. Does anyone have any information? Calls and emails have not been successful? We have more than a few people requesting that we move the Hackfests to Phoenix. Or coordinate them with Installfests at UAT? Please respond with what you want to see (and especially where) this next summer with PLUG Hackfests. -- (503) 754-4452 Android (623) 239-3392 Skype (623) 688-3392 Google Voice ** it-clowns.com --- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
Re: HackFest Call for Recommendations
I am not sure who you can contact at DeVry, but I am sure they would welcome a bunch of tech heads for HackFests or even InstallFests. 21st Ave and Dunlap is not far off the freeway and is a bit more centrally located for those of us who live out west. if that is too far north, then there is always the phoenix college campus located near 15th ave and Thomas rd. I am not sure who to contact there either. both places would make excellent alternatives. -eric On May 11, 2012, at 8:51 PM, Lisa Kachold wrote: I have been unable to determine the status of the the MakerBench facilities, after getting a second cancellation notice from Dean Franks STACS Presentation allegedly because MakerBench was moving.
