[Qgis-user] QGIS Print Layouts Graphs and Plots fundraising

2019-03-21 Thread Nyall Dawson
Hi lists!

This is just a quick announcement for anyone who is unaware: North
Road and Faunalia are currently running a crowdfunding campaign to
extend the QGIS "DataPlotly" plugin to allow beautiful, feature rich
graphs and plots within QGIS print layouts.

You can read the full details of the campaign and see some mockups and
screencasts at https://north-road.com/qgis-data-plotly-campaign/.

If you know of anyone this may be of interest to, please share the
word! The success of QGIS crowdfunding campaigns is directly dependant
on this community spreading the news to local end users, so any local
publicity you can do would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Nyall Dawson

What you need to do is edit the type and status rules, and uncheck the
"symbol" checkbox in their properties. That will make them logic only
rules which don't render any of these unwanted group symbols.

[Qgis-user] Rule-based styling: Why are all levels shown?

2019-03-21 Thread Bernd Vogelgesang

Hi,

I seem to be a bit dumb.

I try to set up rule-based styling for point observations which I like
to break down for three columns.

"type": observation|catch
-- "status": unknown|juvenile|subadult|adult
"gender": "unknown|male|female

In my understanding of a rule based styling of e.g. type = observation,
status = adult and gender = male, the symbol for male within adult
within observation should be shown exclusively.

Instead all three symbols for the type, the status and the gender are
displayed over each other.

I really seem to misunderstand the concept of those nested styles, cause
actually the do not nest, but happily pile over each other.

Glad for any hint,

Bernd

2019-03-21 Thread DelazJ
Hi Tyler,

It's not a bug. A 3.0 feature that may not look obvious at first sight.
This button indicates the advanced configuration, hence those tools are
hidden since they are enabled on a layer basis. Press that icon and select
the "Open snapping Options..." at the bottom of the drop-down menu and you
get a dialog with the options available.
Pressing that icon also allows you to switch to the "all layers" or "active
layer" configurations which both show the tools you are missing.
Do not forget that snapping is a project property, reason why the configs
of this file is propagated to files that derived from it.

[Qgis-user] Interesting anomaly with the snapping toolbar

2019-03-21 Thread Tyler Veinot
Hi All;
I have one map document that when I open it my snapping toolbar changes
from this...
To this...

See how the settings for layer and snap to/tolerance disappeared?
It only seems to happen with one specific map document and any document
created from it as a base. I tried looking for a setting I might have in my
document that would change the snapping tool bar but couldn't find
anything. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a something I can fix or is
it a corruption of the map document file.
Thanks;

Hi Reginald,

SQLite has problems writing on Network File Systems/Samba Shares due to
the poor support for locking. I remember one case where this was

Hi,

this process is outlined on the developer's web site:
https://www.kyngchaos.com/software/frameworks/

Look for the section titled "GDAL Plugins" and find the corresponding
plugin for your version of GDAL.

The Lat Lon Tools plugin does this conversion to put the coordinates into
one or two fields. See "Plugins->Lat Lon Tools->Conversions->Point layer to

[Qgis-user] Flatpak

2019-03-21 Thread Raphael Das Gupta

Heya all

I know that https://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#flatpak
lists the flatpak for QGIS "Stable" (is that the same as LTR?) as
"experimental", but does anyone at least read issues that are being
filed? (No offense intended, just genuinely wondering whether this is
still being maintained.)

I'd be particularly interested in the ones I've filed myself:

https://github.com/flathub/org.qgis.qgis/issues/24 make QGIS 3.4.5
(latest LTR) available
https://github.com/flathub/org.qgis.qgis/issues/25 Can QGIS 3.6.0
(latest non-LTR) be installed through flatpack?

I'd like to help with updating the flatpack to QGIS 3.4.5, but can't
even get its current version (3.4.4) nor the flatpak repo's master
branch (QGIS 3.6.0) to build locally, yet.
(https://github.com/flathub/org.qgis.qgis/issues/26 ; though maybe
that's due to my kinda exotic operating system. But I guess issues with
the build process are more a topic for qgis-develo...@lists.osgeo.org
than for qgis-user, anyway?)

Hi Nyall,

as much as I like your initiative to add such a function, I think such
examples should also be listed in the user manual connected to the field
calculator section.

Unfortunately, in this very important field, qgis resources do not give
many hints how to use the powers of the existing functions. Me, I do
100% of my searches on gis.stackexchange.com to find solution, not the docs.
