What happens ti me with my tires is I'll get a sticky substance THEN a tissue
or napkin will stick to my tire and I'll be riding around with this tissue
riding around with me. People who see me pretend they don't see it because they
don't want to unstick it. So, I wait till I get home and find someone to take
it off and toss it out.

Fwd: [QUAD-L] Mushy tires

2012-11-16 Thread Larry Willis
Billy is right. It's Murphy's law for quads. There can be a single piece of gum
on a football field and my wheel will find it. The hard/softness of the tire
makes a big difference in the comfort of the ride. Too hard makes your bones
rattle when you are traveling a rough surface. Tough on the tailbone. I suspect
avoidance is the only sure way to fix the mud and poo problem.

I've been using boost off and on. I find it to be good, but I use it

Re: [QUAD-L] Mushy tires

2012-11-16 Thread Bill Lang
Any tire will get dirt in treads and squeak when wet, depending on the
flooring, and the medium that lubricated the tire (water, Snow, Slush, ice,
mud, wet sand, etc.) The firmness of the tire will decrease the amount of crud
that gets transferred to the floor dependent on the floor type. Wether the tire
has inserts, air or is a solid core has minimal effect on the amount of crud
transferred or the volume of the squeaking.

It should be obvious that I have too much time on my hands. On this subject
there is one axiom that will always be true:

IF THERE IS DOGGIE POOP I WILL FIND IT WITH MY TIRES. THE POOP WILL ALWAYS BE
IN THE TIRE WITH THE MOST TREAD. GETTING IT OUT OF THE TIRES WILL BE SOMEONE
ELSE'S THANKLESS JOB, FOR WHICH I CAN NEVER SAY " SORRY " ENOUGH TIMES.

Stay away from poop my friends.

Good morning everybody and have been meaning to write sooner but time
seems to fly by at times. It's my anniversary of 19 years post injury as of 3
PM today. It seems kind of weird because I was 19 when the car accident
happened. For the most part I feel like I'm on top of the world well at least
for someone dealing with spinal injury. Have been in the process these last
few months on getting a new chair from 21st-century products. Medicaid had
no problem of approving it with no denial except for the paint color which
I have to pay out-of-pocket. I have remained extremely active outside of my
home on a daily basis of voluntary and employment. About three months ago
I moved into a much bigger place under government subsidized apartments
which offered me a three-bedroom unit versus the shoebox sized one-bedroom I
had before. Unfortunately without the property management Not being up front
with me about room dimensions,I had to take the living room but my live-in
roommate now has a bedroom of her own. Next month I will be going on
vacation to celebrate my grandpa's 90th birthday down in Tucson. That is where
all my family is and I visit about every year or so. Medically I really
can't complain about anything, with no skin issues that I'm having to deal
with for the moment. The morning temperatures here in northern Indiana the
last week has been down in the low 20s with daytime temperatures barely in
the 40s. It is always so much fun to get my body to adjust for these
temperatures and I'm the one choosing to say here in this cold climate. After
being
employed at target for over 17 years now in customer service you learn a
little bit on how retailers rotate their inventory on a regular basis. The
last couple Springtime I found some excellent deals on jackets at Sears at
70 to 80% off the regular retail price which have been keeping me warm and
toasty at least for the top half of me. I thank you all for your ongoing
encouragement and hope the best for all of you. From Monty of Indiana 3/4
