I can use the different services if I use my iPhone as the controller, but I can't figure out a way to add the services to my home screen. Clicking the Add Music Service option on the Squeezebox just directs me to go to uesmartradio.com or download the app for my phone. If you add the services to your account with the app or online, they appear automatically on the home screen, as I understand it. This is how it worked for me. When I go to snooze by pushing the wheel, it just brings up the standard play menu options. When the alarm fires I get options for Snooze or Turn off alarm. If I hit Snooze the music stops and I presume restarts later, just testing it :-) Tim onlyconnect's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19154 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

It does work with a local music server. However, the UE radio gets unhappy when the internet connection is down. I'm not sure if this is by design or a bug. I just tried it. Pulled plug on internet but kept local network up. Turned UE radio off and then on. Home screen shows only My Music and Settings. Go to My Music. I can see the local server and select tracks, but they don't play. Eventually I get a screen that says Current Playlist Nothing. Restore internet connection and it all works again. aubuti wrote: Hmm, these latest posts raise a question about the UE Smart Radio that I don't think I've seen discussed so far. There is fairly widespread agreement that the SB Radio's design to require a server connection to trigger the alarm was a bad idea. Even the old SB Radio has enough smarts to do that on its own. Does the new UE Radio do any better on this score, ie, did they learn from their mistake on the SB Radio? Given the internet-centric approach of the UE Radio I would suspect not. And the obvious subsidiary question: if the main alarm fails, is the fallback alarm -still- Fa Fa Fa by Datarock? Don't know about 2nd question, but you can set and delete alarms on uesmartradio.com which I suspect answers the first. [SlimDevices: Radio] Silent UE radio
Hi I am in touch with support but wondered if you have any ideas? New UE radio does everything except play! Have tried with Live Radio, local server, and Last.fm Taking local server for example, I can select a track and see the album artwork, but no music is played. Amplifier/speaker works since it plays a startup tune on power up, and I hear beeps changing menus. Network is reported OK by diagnostics. Have checked firewall issues, even connected by Ethernet direct to router and setting it as DMZ. Yes volume is turned up! I guess possibly a faulty unit but it seems odd that it so nearly works. It has started working! I didn't change anything. Turned it on, to verify the fault one last time before packing. Local music works, live radio works. Strange indeed. IME time passing rarely fixes anything other than overheating, not the culprit in this case. But I am sure there is a simple explanation. You can get date-related bugs. For example, I have seen bugs that do not show for the first 12 days of the month. mbg wrote: Sure, but a bit less crazy because these are NiMH so would last longer before needing replacement. The specs for the UE radio don't list a battery under what's in the box, and the CNET review says it's built-in But the setup guide shows battery removal instructions, so I guess that should be clear enough that it's replaceable. The battery is easy to access behind a panel secured with a single screw. It is not a standard type you can buy at any store though.
