Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Dumb Question - How do you connect to the server?
SqueezeCommander will conntect to your localSBS and to MySB at the same time. Both servers should show the status 'connected' within SqueezeCommander. If that is the case, you can see all players no matter if they are connected to your local SBS or to MySB. To switch a player from one server to another, enter the EditMode (top-left corner in the PlayerServerScreen) and use the checkboxes/buttons or use DragAndDrop on the player and drop it on another server. If you drop it on another *player*, both players should create a Sync group and play the same music. Mysqueezebox.com (mysb.com) is basically SbS "in the cloud". If you run your local SbS, it can play your own music files. Mysqueezebox.com can only play internet radio, music services (pandora, etc.). If you are connected to your own computer's SbS 24/7, you never need to connect to mysb.com. But some people don't like to keep computer running 24/7. If your players are connected to mysb.com, when you go to that webpage and login, you'll see all your players and they will show as "connected". If they show as "not connected" this means the players are instead connected to your local SbS. Players can only be connected to one or the other at any given time. You can control SB players (your radios) from the computer either way. If they are connected via mysb.com, you control from that webpage webcontrol. If they are connected to your local SbS, you control from the WebGUI. You reach this by entering this address in your webbrowser: 1. (If you are trying to connect ON THE SAME COMPUTER AS RUNNING SBS): http://localhost:9000/ 2. if trying to connect from a different computer (e.g., laptop) on same local network, use this: http://192.168.1.18:9000/ (except replace "192.168.1.18" with the IP address of the computer running SbS I don't use the squeezecommander, but I use ipeng and squeezebad to control everything from my iphone/ipad. I can say that in my use, the ipeng or squeezepad app is trying to control the players that are connected to the Server that is being used (and is selected in ipeng). So, if ipeng is looking at my local SbS, it shows me the players connected to SbS. If I connect ipeng to mysqueezebox.com as the server, it shows me the players connected to that server. I can switch back and forth by changing the server I'm using or by moving players from one server to another. Not sure if squeezecommander allows that or if it only looks at players connected to your local SbS. If you want to make sure all radios are connected to your local SbS, you should simply be able to select "my music" item on the RADIO menu, and it should offer to connect you to your music library (SbS) assuming it is up and running on your local computer. And buried somewhere in the menu structure in the RADIO is an option to "connect to mysqueezebox.com". You should find this and move it to the home menu if you plan on using this often. -- garym Location 1: Vortexbox Appliance 6TB (1.10) > SbS 7.6.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) Location 2: Win7(64) laptop > SbS 7.6.2 > Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio and laptop) Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controlled at both locations with: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.6 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91346 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Dumb Question - How do you connect to the server?
Perhaps that's part of my problem as I'm not sure of the difference. In either case, I don't know how to connect or disconnect. The reason I even care really is that with Squeezebox Commander, some boxes show as connected or not connected, the same with mysqueezebox.com. I don't know how to connect versus not connect. What situations might make sense to connect to one versus the other? Was just curious as there must be some reasons for the notification. I know if they are connected via mysqueezebox.com, I can remote control them from my computer. Any thoughts I was just interested in hearing for their purposes if at all useful. -- mr1c...@gmail.com mr1c...@gmail.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49021 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91346 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Your radios can be connected to mysqueezebox.com OR SqueezeBoxServer (SbS) running on your local computer. But not both at the same time. Are you saying that your radios don't show up as connected to mysb.com or to SbS? -- garym Location 1: Vortexbox Appliance 6TB (1.10) > SbS 7.6.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) Location 2: Win7(64) laptop > SbS 7.6.2 > Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio and laptop) Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controlled at both locations with: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.6 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91346 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Dumb Question - How do you connect to the server?
I have three radios, and from time to time, I can see that they are connected or not when I look on mysqueezebox.com. For me, this appears to be random, perhaps when I link to my squeezebox to play a favorite I've placed on there. Is there a straight forward way to connect the squeezebox via the radio, from the computer, or when using the Squeezebox Commander? Appreciate any help, thanks! -- mr1c...@gmail.com mr1c...@gmail.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49021 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91346 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
