I actually like leaving the fenders on until June or so - just for the quizzical looks of the summer-only riders. That way, I'm also well past the potential for fender-removal or just-washed-bike precipitation generation. I find the act of changing fenders, racks, bags and intended purpose one of the true pleasures of having Rivendell bikes. - J -- Jim Edgar cyclofi...@earthlink.net Cyclofiend Bicycle Photo Galleries - http://www.cyclofiend.com Current Classics - Cross Bikes Singlespeed - Working Bikes -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Honolulu - All fenders, all the time. Like we say out here, if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes. If you do like the weather, wait ten minutes. Generally I ride to work on wet streets in the morning and come home on dry ones except for the days I do the opposite. Aloha! San Jose (CA). I leave the fenders on my Quickbeam year-round. Most of my bikes do not have fenders, though. Horace. Albuquerque, NM, 8 inches a year, and I leave the fenders on three bikes all year; on the Monocog, for winter only; for the gofast, never -- no braze ons. I leave my fenders on my fendered bikes year-round. Not too much rain here in the desert but my fendered bikes stay remarkably cleaner than my non-fendered bikes. But I do celebrate the change from Winter to Spring by pulling the studded tires off the winter ride. There is nothing quite like that first ride of spring without studded tires. Fortunately this year with our warm March (if it does not snow by the end of the month it will be the first March in recorded history in the Twin Cities without snow), I was able to pull off the studded tires pretty early. There was one summer a few years ago where every single weekend day all summer long there was a 45% chance of thunderstorms. I used a fendered bike for every one of them, and it never rained once on any of the rides. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
