Is the alternator too small or what? What ever you remove from the battery has to be replaced by the alternator any way that you work it. If it is that close to going over the edge, you might save your self some grief and replacing it with a higher capacity one before it dies and leaves you stranded some where. just a thought. 73 AC0Y --- In Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com, "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Because of a wreak in my vanI am forced into my yl's van while she gets the new one (isn't that the way it always is ;-) > > The electrical system is her van is pretty bad, so putting more stress on it with radios may put it over the edge. [Repeater-Builder] Re: Help with new(ish) Sinclair ant
Hi Rick, Very nice antenna you have there. The standard range for the vhf model should be 138-174Mhz, broad band and with a very nice amount gain. You can make it semi directional by placing the dipoles in line. If they are 90 degree offset from each other, the radiation is near circular depending on the the adjacent mount (ie the tower). A very expensive antenna and you have the enclosed feed line version. It's matching harness/method is quite different compared to the Decibel layout. I spec and use them at many repeater sites... very very nice units. [Repeater-Builder] Re: Moving MSR-2000 UHF Receiver below 445 MHz?
Hi Rob, It would involve tuning the receiver for normal spec within the standard range, noting the metering point values (of specific interest are the injection levels). Retune the receiver with the <445 channel element in place and note the level differences. You might have to modify some of the the injection chain values depending on the preformance of the stage with the new lower frequency. I just did this operation, going the other direction. The MSR retunes well, but the injection stage drops off hard/fast when you go outside its rated range. You could estimate the injection stage values by reviewing the manual parts lists for the 450-470 range vs the T-Band 490 stage values. [sidebar] Similar things happen with the Micor. I moved an 800Mhz Micor up to 907Mhz back in the late 80's (part of one of the first 900Mhz repeaters on the air in Northern California), requiring the same methods mentioned above plus a bout of serious preselector size reduction via a wheel grinder and polish file. Good luck cheers skipp skipp025 at yahoo.com www.radiowrench.com > "Rob Odell" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > In a recent move I've lost my documentation on moving the MSR-2000 > primary UHF receiver down below 445 while maintaining its rated > performance. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Parkinson RP11controller
I may have one still, if I can locate it. Let me know if you come up empty. You do know that the Parkinson board doesn't do much don't you? It allows the radio to repeat and has a hang timer and audio adjustments. There is probably a ComSpec board on it. But, it does not have ID nor any control functions -- just makes it repeat (and has connections for an external autopatch). [Repeater-Builder] MastrII Station Panel Info

While I have a GE manual for the standard repeater panel 19B234871P1 (GE LBI-31807), it is a long ways from the station panel in this particular radio. The radio is a B3D100VAUUB. Does anyone have info on the Tone Remote/Repeater station panel, or other suggestions on converting to a more usual ham type controller? Also, this radio has the GE programmable Channel Guard encoder and decoder modules. I want to set this up such that the encoder follows the RUS line, ie. the CG tone is only transmitted when there is a legal signal on the RX input. RE: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Retuning a Micor Receiver from 450-470 to 440Mhz
Increase the value of the caps in the multiplier stages to the values specified for the low-split receiver and you should be fine. The sensitivity starts to fall off around 442-445 MHz (depending on the receiver) due to low injection. The front end insertion loss does go up the more the slugs are in, which is typical, but they will usually still do 0.5 uV for 20 dBQ at 440 with the injection brought up. --- Jeff Jeff DePolo WN3A - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Broadcast and Communications Consultant > -Original Message- > From: gtwdon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Sunday, July 18, 2004 8:47 PM > To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Retuning a Micor Receiver > from 450-470 to 440Mhz > > > 440.125 Mhz > > <---It shouldn't require anything other than tuning, depending on > how low > > you're trying to move it. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Help with 210C4 (sd214)
Rick, if your cable harness is on the outside of the antenna you don't have a 210C4 but it probably is a 210A4. The 210C4 has the harness totally inside the antenna. Check with Bob VE3BFM he'll knowhe used to work for Sinclair.
