2010-10-14 Thread Cliff Perry
Needless to say, wrong list, its late, I'm tired and while interesting,
likely doesn't help spacewalk much - in short - sorry for noise.

[Spacewalk-devel] Can someone help 'fix' cobbler 2.0.6 for Sat 5.4 ?

2010-10-14 Thread Cliff Perry
Both me and Partha are not the experts here and not certain what went
wrong. Can someone help and fix it? :)

Cliff

 cliff-evening:
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=cobbler;a=commit;h=963ed1178ed490c25f25e38fe479816661e0fafa
that change is safe - how to you over-ride/change its
ehavir without code change ?

 we have to change spacewalk-koan
 i*nod*
 2 line change in Koan
 k.grubby_copy_default =
 0
 :)
I guess I cna push it to spacewalk-master and assume folks will
have the latest koan /
and satellite.git - or thirdparty.git and rebuild brew
cobbler for new koan packages
i assume as a patch to cobbler thirdparty.git to overlay
change

I think koan is like a separate thing in the third party
 [thirdparty.git] spec-tree/cobbler
cliff-evening: hmm in the third part I see the koan version
listed as 1.6.8

 hmm
ok see the correct thing there
cliff-evening: I really dont see how the koan we have as our
child rpm is actually working in rhel 6

because it doesn;t have justins rpm fix
i mean that patch he added to cobbler (nothing to do with rpm)
cliff-evening: will have to check in the scrum call tomorrow
we bumped to 2.0.6 to get justins fix, vs patch and
maintain 2.0.3

 ah
but I just downloaded the rpm
 hmm

http://git.rhndev.redhat.com/git/?p=thirdparty.git;a=blob;f=spec-tree/cobbler/cobbler.spec;h=50dce779bf1f93f0127b1dd7864e2d88f54f2147;hb=aedc0a686fca02d00e7611bbd76ed886865f6ec1

 and rpmcpio -t
*but* I don't fully understand this stuff... shannon was
last to touch it

 I think its busted :/
 I did a wget from
https://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/buildinfo?buildID=145563

(the link you had in your email)
 and just manually compared ->
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=cobbler;a=commit;h=f7e43a7b9b5e44aac582c6db08e9e226b6b990d1
 [cpe...@cperry 206]$ rpm2cpio
../../koan-2.0.6-3.el5sat.noarch.rpm | cpio -di
 usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/koan/app.py:
(make, version, rest) = utils.os_release()

agreed... I don't see Justin's patch in the cod
 code
 yeh it should break rhel6
I dunno how qa is getting past that and complaining about the
long grub values
I don't know partha.. not without next logging into RHN
in webQA and Stage to see what is in channels... and asking folks if
they are using external non-RHN repos

 cliff-evening: scrum call :)
well... copy/paste of this IRC convo and a WTF is going
on :)

cliff-evening: ok so I pushed the patch to third pary
what do I do to build it ?.. Tag ?
 https://errata.devel.redhat.com/errata/show/10089 - koan
2.0.6 associated to errata
I'm so the wrong person to ask that partha - I've never
built a thing with tito, nor in thirdparty.git :)

 :)
 well I just tagged it
 also
 hoping that works
 hehe
I have tagged it and have a test rpm
webqa currently has koan 2.0.3 -
https://rhn.webqa.redhat.com/rhn/software/packages/details/Overview.do?pid=584721
even that should be busted.. Folks are hard coding koan to move
on I suspect
so I suspect QA has been testing RHEL 6 kickstarts using
a 2.0.3 with Justin's patch vs a 2.0.6 which is missing his patch

 Oh

 Hi all

I'm having some problems porting a page.  the page is
'/network/systems/custominfo/edit.pxt' and the problem is displaying
the list of systems with this custom data with the correct pagination.
I can do it with out the pagination but the pxt file used the
pagination so I'm attempting to as well.

Could someone have a look and comment?  I'm sure what I've done is pretty
 close.

 Thanks

The patch looks ok except for it using the old list tag instead of the new :/.
We want to use the rl:list stuff not the rhn:list .. We were going to slowly
deprecate away rhn:list* in the future (there were just too many to change )..
You map issue should be fixed in the Master.

I've managed to get it going with only changing the jsp page.  Could
you have a quick look and advise on sanity?

I have no memory of its usage in Satellite. If you cannot see an entry
point into this handler, then I suspect/assume it is legacy code from
rhn.redhat.com. Obviously its removal will likely break something if it
indeed was needed and can be easily added back :)
