As an easier fix, try fixing the plug-in to limit the number of items returned to 200, or perhaps 199. mrw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38299 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112587 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

You are probably referring to MusicIP. Its still around but there is now something called Dont Stop Yhe Music built into LMS. Combine this with a plugin called LastMix and it may well suffice without the pain of MusicIP which takes some serious set up. 2. Look in Linux for the thread on piCorePlayer Documentation. Thanks guys. When I first set-up LMS on WHS I installed/used something that automatically played music, I think it analysed the music and played it based on bpm or something. This issue has nothing to do with FileTypes. If the issue was FileType then you'd see the files in a album / folder but get a message such as "can't play file for" when you try to play the file. The issue is the files are not being "seen" when scanned. This is usually (i) permissions and ownership or (ii) exclusions. "x" Permission must be given to whole tree of directories not just the immediate one containing the tracks. The directory tree starts with the one declared as base folder in LMS settings. What is the current permission and ownership on the two hierarchically higher directories and on the track files Are these directories shared or networked ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113674 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] M4A files not found/recognized
Thanks for the answers, sorry I didn't respond, I think I'll need to enable notifications for this forum :-) I did check the permissions and they are the same for folders+files which are being found. I am running the latest release I think, 8.1.1. I enabled debug logging for the scanner and I can't really see anything. It lists all the files that it scans, except the m4a ones. So it would show something like this: Code: [21-01-19 19:30:00.8726] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::Async::__ANON__ (148) Found /media/video/Audio/Secular/The Cranberries/No Need to Argue/5 - Empty.ogg [21-01-19 19:30:00.8729] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::Async::__ANON__ (148) Found /media/video/Audio/Secular/The Corrs - unplugged [21-01-19 19:30:00.8732] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::Async::__ANON__ (148) Found /media/video/Audio/Secular/Roxette [21-01-19 19:30:00.8735] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::Async::__ANON__ (148) Found /media/video/Audio/Secular/Roxette/Tourism [21-01-19 19:30:00.8736] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::Async::__ANON__ (148) Found /media/video/Audio/Secular/Roxette/Tourism/10 - Silver Blue.mp3 As you can see, it will list the folder for "The Corrs - unplugged", but no files in there. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Player times 2 minutes slow!?
Currently using LMS 8.1.2 - 1610697261 @ Fri Jan 15 10:27:01 WEST 2021, though I'm not certain if this problem appeared with an earlier version. In the week or two my partner has started to complain that the alarm clock on our bedroom SB Boom is coming on after the start of the hourly news it is tuned to. (Not that I've been missing a couple minutes of updates on COVID-19 and politics, but it bothers her ;-).) I finally investigated this. It appears that every SB player device in the house had its time two minutes behind real time -- best I can tell exactly two minutes behind. (I have checked two Booms, one Touch, and one Classic so far and their times appeared to be consistently incorrect.) Both the LMS server they talk to and the router are set to synchronize with time.nrc.ca and have the correct time. I went digging in both the client UI Settings and the LMS Player Settings and can't find any reference to where players get their time. Fiddling around with the LMS server time (setting it a day early and the clock randomly not at the right time) caused one device I was looking at to see if this made any difference to apparently lose its connection with the LMS server and display a message about mysqueezebox.com. I changed the server time back to real time and hard-booted the device; it reconnected with the LMS server and its time now seems to be the real time. Where is the client time synchronization controlled and what is the source of the time? I was previously under the impression that time comes from the LMS server the client is connected to unless it has no connection, in which case it keeps track locally. (Thus the Boom will play a default alarm at around the right time even if it's not connected to the network.) But apparently my devices aren't doing this, or at least aren't doing it consistently or are subtracting a couple minutes from the time. Any insight would be appreciated. *Server:* LMS 7.9.0; *Study:* SB Touch > C 375BEE DAC; *Spouse's Study:* SB Boom; *Master Bedroom:* SB Boom; *Living Room:* SB2; *Family Room:* SB2; *Kitchen:* SB Boom; *Spare:* SB Boom stephenkca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7820 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113717 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Pi Music Server advice appreciated.
If you want to install a lot of other things that are not really related to LMS and you know Linux well enough to perform basic commands from a terminal session and can do some basic diagnosis when things go wrong then ... you probably should install Raspberry Pi OS (previously known as Raspbian) or Ubuntu or a flavour that you know works well on the Pi. The benefit with RPiOS is that you can be confident that it will be up to date with RPI specific things - but it is not always up to date with the latest of 3rd-party stuff so sometimes you have to go and search for things outside the default repos. My approach has been to run all LMS stuff on a dedicated RPi running pCP and use other RPi systems for other things. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Pi Music Server advice appreciated.
I've been using LMS on a WHS 2011 for many years and it has worked well. However, it is time to move on an I'm not quite sure how to proceed with the installation. I have purchased a Pi 4 8GB, an Argon One M2 case and a 1TB SSD to fit in the case. Everything will be on a wired network with a fixed IP address. Scanning the forum it appears people recommend PiCorePlayer and I understand why. However, my first question is can it make use of the 8GB and the second question is can it work as a DLNA server as well? Looking at other options I see Ubuntu 64 bit server is available for the Pi. This I understand does make use of 8GB and would allow me to install LMS and Asset DLNA server. What do people advise? Is Ubuntu a good way to go? Next, it is a long time since I have installed/configured LMS. If I take the Ubuntu route are there any up to date instructions and what do people recommend for add-ons etc. When I previously installed LMS add-ons all cost money. Is this still the case? I'm totally out of date with regard to LMS and have no idea what has happened since the days when I installed it on WHS 2011. One of the things I would like to do is listen to radio, both BBC and other stations. Although I am in the UK I prefer US radio stations. What is the best way to find these now? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks for all the replies. I presume Webmin is just placing a graphical interface on the yum process. The 'software packages' module you linked to is the way I do it now by downloading the latest package on my PC and using the 'From uploaded file' option to transfer it to the server and install it. However, there is an easier way if a repository is available with the latest version of LMS. For example, I have added the published repository for Plex to Webmin. This allows Webmin to create notifications of new updates and simplifies the download and installation process. The 'Software Packages Updates' > 'Package Repositories' module allows the management of repositories: 33017 The Plex repo I added is highlighted. New package repositories can be added: 33018 I have tried adding the normal URLs but these do not work. Any help or advice appreciated!
