not been tested so please report any oddities you encounter.

[sumo-user] Sublane model with Wiedemann car-following model

2018-04-12 Thread Umair Durrani
Hi,

Is it possible to use sublane model with Wiedemann model? Or does the
sublane model only works with the default car-following model in SUMO?

Re: [sumo-user] LeftHand option

2018-04-12 Thread Jakob Erdmann
Please try using the latest development version available at
http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Downloads#SUMO_-_Latest_Development_Version and
report if the crash persists.

To split an edge, right-click at the desired split point and select 'split
edge here' from the menu.

[sumo-user] [MICROSCOPIC SIMULATION][SIMULATION STEP][vNext]

2018-04-12 Thread Luca Di Costanzo
Hi guys,

I'd like to ask, better, how microsimulation working in SUMO. Since that me
and my fellows are trying to add an external dynamic vehicle in SUMO
through Simulink. We established a communication between SUMO and Simulink
but we stucked when we tried to override the position in SUMO we obtained
with the dynamic vehicle since that the commands as "moveToXY" or
"setspeed" are implemented with a delay of 1 timestep.

For that reason I tryed to gain a broader knowledge about "MSVehicle.cpp"
and I would like to understand if, vNext is calculated and applied in the
SIMULATION STEP or, the vNext that it's used to update vehicle status is
related and applied in the next simulation step.

If vNext works as the second description I would like to know if could be
possible to read this variale or/and also the variable myState.myPos.

I attacched this figure to help you, if I was not clear, to which variable
I'm talking about

Re: [sumo-user] A question about timestep and tau

2018-04-12 Thread Rahimi, Tariq Rahim
I appreciate your response,

I installed the newer version just yesterday and I am still getting waitSteps
in the Tripinfo output and I don't get any waitingTime.

Additionally, where can I get a good measure of queue length and congestion?

Thank you,

Subject: Re: A question about timestep and tau

Hello,
The value of waitSteps counts the number of simulation steps in which a vehicle
was waiting. So if your vehicle waits for 3 seconds and you simulation with
--step-length 0.2 that would be 15 waitSteps.
In the latest development version, the attribute waitSteps is replaced with
waitingTime which is measured in seconds.

The value of tau determines the desired time-headway between successive
vehicles. The exact usage of this value depends on the car following model (see
http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Definition_of_Vehicles,_Vehicle_Types,_and_Routes#Car-Following_Models)

To model different perception-reaction times, see
http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Car-Following-Models#Model_Parameters

Jakob

Hello everyone,

When I output the tripinfo, it says waitSteps= an integer value. How can I get
this or the total waiting time for each vehicle in seconds? Also, how can I
calculate a queue length?

What is the concept of time Step? when I generate a route file with 12 vehicles
departing at the same time step but in different time frame, such as the first
vehicle departs at 0 seconds, the second at 3rd second, the third one in 6th
second but they all are departing at the same time step. Here, the time step in
9 seconds. 10 minutes later, there are 5 vehicles departing at the same time
step and the time step there becomes 5 seconds.

What can I make of time step if I want to calculate the waiting time at an
intersection?

Also, any ideas on what does tau trigger? what file can I find it's source code
and what functions are related to it? I want to simulate different
perception-reaction times (0.5 second, 1 second, 2 seconds), How should I go
for it?

Thank you,

[sumo-user] Rerouting Multiple Vehicles

2018-04-12 Thread Jonathan Harper
Hello,

An observation I’ve had when rerouting many vehicles at once (going through a
list of vehicles and rerouting them one after the other) is that the rerouting
of the first vehicle seemingly takes by far the longest (sometimes being up to
10 seconds), whereas the other vehicles present in the lift are rerouted
instantaneously without noticeable delay. This has been checked with debugging
and regardless of any changes made to the code the first rerouting always takes
a significant amount of time. Even when not iterating through vehicles and
simply rerouting a single vehicle x amount of times (in a while loop), the
first rerouting still takes the longest.

Have you observed this? And if not, do you think this may be down to some type
of hardware limitation?

Kind regards,
Jonathan

Re: [sumo-user] Using flows after loading a simulation state

2018-04-12 Thread Jakob Erdmann
Your value of SUMO_HOME probably still points to an older version of SUMO.
This causes xml-validation of the new xml element 'flowState' to fail.
Either update the variable or disable xml-validation:

Hello Jakob,
the aforementioned bug is fixed in the latest development version. When loading
simulation state that contains flows, make sure to load the original route
files that were used when saving the state. You do not need to manage begin and
end time as this is handled by sumo. Just define your flow as

Hello Jakob,

It should not be necessary to load flows again after saving.

Hello everybody,
I’m already bothering you with my next question. I tried creating a saved
simulation state and reloading it afterwards, which works in principle, but it
seems I can’t use flows afterwards anymore, but would have to define every
vehicle explicitly. Is that correct?
A part of my demand definition looks as follows:
This would be before saving the state:

And this after:

So basically, I got the same flows again with a different name and create more
vehicles after the state is loaded. However, I receive an error message that
the first vehicle with the ID South_to_North_Car_continuous.0 has no valid
route.
Is this a bug or is it simply not possible to create flows after the simulation
has already begun?
Thanks
