GUI tools don't have to be mentioned, Seamonkey itself can already
 export the addressbook as .ldif
What I require is a tool that can be used in a batch job to convert
hundreds of .mab files to .ldif without clickety-click action.

I believe a .mab file is the TB/SM address book. If the purpose of your
request is to get the information in one file, have you considered
exporting the address book to a CSV file. I beleive it can be done in
the native TB/SM address book, but I know it can be done with

 ImportExportTools

I need something that I can call from a script, not an extension for
the GUI browser.

Some .exe file that has 2 parameters, a .mab file path and a .ldif
file path.

 This
 http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/mab
says that SeaMonkey can open .MAB files.

I know that. I already mentioned it in my post.

My understanding is that .mab is based on the much maligned mork.
I know it is a mess. I also do not understand why the Seamonkey/Thunderbird
project has not converted those files to sqlite by now, like it did for
all other datastores. There appears to have been a project to do this,
it encountered a performance problem, and it was simply abandoned.
 Unbelievable.

It seems very unlikely that anyone would create a tool specifically for
the purpose of restructuring/recreating mork-based .mab addressbook into
 .ldif.
Why? This is a very much required tool to move .mab addressbooks to
another platform. .ldif is widely supported as an import format.

Yes, I usually wait longer, too. Thanks for reminding me of best

1. The latest is 12.0.0.44, not 12.0.0.43.

2. A critical vulnerability has been found in 12.0.0.43.

Thanks, good to know.

I have installed version 12.0.0.44 and I still see the same problem on
SeaMonkey.

Does anybody else not see this?

Did you even look at the help files?
*dawn5.exe /convert /from [/app source_application] [/file
source_file_name] /to [/app target_application] [/file target_file_name]
*Performs the specified conversion from the command line.
You can also run it from the command line cmdline.html. This lets you
put conversions into batch files or scripts.

Windows 7 (x64)
SeaMonkey 2.24
Flash 12.0 r0(44) (12.0.0.44)

I have not seen this problem. NOTE: (1) I usually disable Flash via the
FlashBlock extension; and (2) I don't visit the Amazon Cloud Player web
site. Last night, however, I did some extensive browsing at a number of
Web sites (no Amazon) with Flash enabled without any problem.

blockage

2014-02-08 Thread Not@home
I have Vista with SeaMonkey 2.24 (this problem has been present for
quite a few versions prior).

When I turn on the pc and load SeaMonkey, it goes to my homepage very
promptly. However, when I click on a link from my homepage, the new
page loads about 90 percent (the page is visible, but I can't scroll, or
do anything else). It says it is waiting for xxx (this varies) and is
frozen for anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes, then completes loading. Then
the problem apparently resolves, and I can browse normally with no delay
for the balance of my session. I don't have the problem on my other pcs
(one with Vista and one with Windows7).

Where should I look for elimination of this problem?
