This occurs for me with Apache 2.0.43, mod_jk 1.2.2, and Tomcat 4.1.18 or 4.1.20
-- though I've never had it occur if I let all pages (and frames therein, of
course) load completely.

It seams to only happen when I'm running it from IIS using and the
(default) Coyote connector for AJP13.

It is reproducable even when I'm navigating after the page has finnished loading

Unfortunately this is not at all uncommon in JSP pages I'm looking at -- at
least not with 4.1.24.

I can ignore it easily enough. Customers will believe the "SEVERE" and sweat
(and thus extract) blood over this, however.

This is equivalent to a client disconnect, but on input. As it's much less
common, no attempt has been made to fix it. Ignore it.

Further info:

This is absolutely reproducible in 4.1.18 as well after all.

I presume that one could solve this similar to the fix I see in
ErrorDispatchValve from 4.1.21 except that this exception appears a bit harder
to identify (so as not to swallow important SocketExceptions as well).

Any ideas?

In the worst case, I suppose I could extend/replace this valve to take a
parameter as to whether this error should be swallowed... (Yuck!)

A confirmation that this is just an over-reaction on the part of Tomcat and not
a sign of a "SEVERE" problem as it states would be very helpful as well

If anyone has a patch for this, I'd be extremely interested.

For that matter, if anyone has a clue where to look, I'd be more than willing
to try to debug this.
