[Touch-packages] [Bug 1874515] Re: 20.04 does not bring up certain bridges
The difference between bridges managing to come up correctly and the ones which does not seem to be that bridges defined as "inet manual" fails and the ones defined as "inet static" succeeds. An example of a bridge coming up correctly with a similar setup without the post-up brctl addbr command; auto int0.70 iface int0.70 inet manual vlan-raw-device int0 pre-up ifconfig $IFACE up post-down ifconfig $IFACE down auto br_nat iface br_nat inet static bridge_ports int0.70 bridge_maxwait 5 address 172.X.X.X/24 up ip ro add 10.X.X.X/10 via 172.X.X.X dev $IFACE So two conclusions; 1) Bridges configured with bridge_ports with interfaces defined as "inet manual" while the bridge is also configured as "inet manual" will fail to come up correctly. 2) If a bridge fails to come up with the inet manual directive the dhclient for br_ext_prim also dies after receiving one lease. Reservation on #1 that this could probably also be true with an "inet static" interface for a bridge configured as "inet manual". Both of the above works 100% fine in 18.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ifupdown in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874515 Title: 20.04 does not bring up certain bridges Status in ifupdown package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: After upgrading from a fully patched ubuntu-server 18.04 to 20.04 and rebooting I noticed that some of my bridge interfaces defined in /etc/network/interfaces would not come up while others would. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1526200] Re: Displayport screen goes back and forth in to Power save mode
1) sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date A10 08/17/2015 uname -r 3.19.0-56-generic 2) No improvement. The screen is black. After i installed 3.19.0-56-generic it worked a while but started after som days flickering on and off in to power save mode. I can't have larger resolution then 1280x800 on that screen that is attached with mini- displayport. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1526200 Title: Displayport screen goes back and forth in to Power save mode Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have 3 screens including the laptop screen. The one connected to the displayport is going in to power save mode and back in random intervalls. The other screens don't care if the displayport one is going back and forth to power save mode like it does when you unplug the displayport cable. This started last week. I run the software updater last week. I have seen old workarounds that say you should press ctr + alt + F6 but it does not fix the problem. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1526200] [NEW] Displayport screen goes back and forth in to Power save mode
Public bug reported: I have 3 screens including the laptop screen. The one connected to the displayport is going in to power save mode and back in random intervalls. The other screens don't care if the displayport one is going back and forth to power save mode like it does when you unplug the displayport cable. This started last week. update: I did run the command: "pavucontrol" ..but it didnt start / work.. [Touch-packages] [Bug 198523] Re: Optical Audio Out Plays At Wrong Speed..
Its because its not synced the frequency between the output and input.. In other words, if you play a 96 kHz audio (or 48 kHz audio) via a 44.1 kHz output, it gets faster "trying to squeeze everything in the 44.1 kHz stream".. It could be a problem at your digital input (yamaha), but I dont think it is there because they sense what kHz is beeing used and adapts the input accordingly. The error is somewhere between the kHz of what you are trying to play, what the soundcard is sonfigured to play up sounds at, and at the digital output at the card. Its a missmatch between the kHz of what is beeing played and the configuration of the mixer.. there lies the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198523 Title: Optical Audio Out Plays At Wrong Speed.. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1351479] Re: Purple screen flicker on black screen when starting Ubuntu 14.04 with amd radeon 6450 gfx card
Hi Christopher! I beg you pardon for the extremely late answer :/ It did work afterwards, dont remembered what I did to fix it but I managed to get it working somehow,, maybe I did reinstall everything, dont remember to be honest. Sorry about that. Right now at the moment its not a problem or I cant verify it is one, Ill get back if it is in that case. At the moment I cant test with the latest development release, but in a few mounts I can do that , absolutely! Do I have to install the development release then, or can I try this out with a live-cd? I can try to see if everything works installing, because that was not the case before.. If others dont report this also, I think maybe one can assume its not a problem anymore? I dont know.. Thanks for the help! I cant start Ubunutu 14.04.. During the upstart I see the usual ubuntu loading screen (the one with the dots before loading x).. But I see it with purple flicker and strange "noise patterns" across the screen here and there.. Then it continues on to the loginscreen in ubuntu but here I dont see anything, its black background with the same purple flicker/strange noise patterns here and there.. Some times I can see the cursor displaying on this black/purple distortion pattern and I have one purple "square distortion pattern" following the cursor when I move it around.. other than that I cant see a thing actually so something goes wrong when loading this.. It all worked a few days ago and then I updated ubuntu and it didnt worked.. Maybee it did have something to do with that I changed the harddrive with gfx-card to another computer with the same chipset on the motherboard (its only a slower cpu) because I was trying a thing there and then I changed it back.. if I dont remember wrong it stopped working there? Or if it did work and stopped working after doing the usual ubuntu updates.. I dont remember to be honest when it did stop working.. Im not that experienced with ubuntu so I dont know what to do from here, help would be appriciated! You can write what I can try and so I can reply here with the results.. right now its working everything, but I did remove the amd radeon 6450 gfx card and run on the motherboards integrated gfx-chip.. then it loaded as usual so I suspect its something with the amd driver somehow.. but still I have no clue how to fix this.. Ive tried to run in failsafe-x mode at the grub start but with no sucess.. then its only dark with a blinking cursor up in the corner but with nothing else.. not with the purple distortion patterns anyway when I run that mode.. but nothing is loading as said.. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1503360] [NEW] no audio devices - PulseAUDIO not started / crash / bug together with "pulseaudio multiband eq"?
Public bug reported: Hi everyone! Dont know what is wrong, but suddenly I have no sound.. have checked with "aplay -l " and it says it discovered both my graphics card audio (amd hd6450) and the motherboard sound (intel alc260).. I run via intel sound this time.. But when I open the settings manager -> audio, it discovers no output devices at all I can be able to change the sound to output via.. I have had this error 2 or 3 times before that the sound and the devices just "disappears", not sure why.. Dont remember if I did anything to get the sound back, after a while it started working again (not sure why eighter). I also run / autoload the "pulseaudio multiband eq" at startup.. maybe it interferes and crashes with pulseaudio and this is where it all collides? I dont know.. I can run the alsamixer and everything seems to be working fine there, no problems with the mixer there, everything is discovered and changeable. When I filed this bug, it said the pulseaudio had crashed. When I run in command prompt this: "pulseaudio", I get as a response: E: [pulseaudio] module-ladspa-sink.c: Master sink not found E: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to load module "module-ladspa-sink" (argument: "sink_name=ladspa_output.mbeq_1197.mbeq master= plugin=mbeq_1197 label=mbeq control=-3.7,-2.3,-7.3,-8.9,-8.6,-6.9,-7.3,-6.3,-7.6,-8.9,-10.9,-9.2,-9.9,-12.9,-13.2"): initialization failed. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1316873] Re: Left mouse button stops working
Have had this problem for a while, annoying. HP EliteBook 8440p Logitech M525 Mouse Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316873 Title: Left mouse button stops working Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: This problem has plagued me for a few years across different laptops and Ubuntu versions. Current I am experiencing this on a Dell Inspiron 15z running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. It typically starts after I have used the chat or call feature in gmail, by clicking on the phone icon in the left chat margin. I am a Firefox user and have not tested this with chrome etc. It has not happened if i dont install google-talkplugin so it is quite possible that the plugin is to blame. Symptom === The left mouse button on all attached mice - USB , Trackpad and touch - will not do anything however the right mouse button continues to work. This happens to all applications and also to the desktop. The keyboard continues to function as normal. When this occurs , my solution is to Alt-F4 close all windows and log out of the X session. When I re-login the left mouse button works as normal. This is an irritant and work disruptor as I have to save all browser and desktop applications to safe state before I logout to reset the mouse. I will appreciate any soltion or workaround. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1410618] Re: MacBook Air 6, 2 TRRS Headset Mic Not Working

Mac OS picks up and utilizes the TRRS headset mic without issue so I know the hardware is a go. With the headset plugged in, running sudo hdajacksensetest -a results in: Pin 0x05 ( Digital Out, HDMI): present = No Pin 0x06 ( Digital Out, HDMI): present = No Pin 0x07 ( Digital Out, HDMI): present = No AlsaInfo output here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=cabc8cab44d308c8a3898c66d48d9be4fc5ccf83 I opened up hdajackretask to find four pins: Green Headphone Pin ID: 0x10 Headphone Internal Speaker Pin ID: 0x12 Internal speaker Pink Mic Pin ID: 0x18 Not connected Internal Mic Pin ID: 0x1c Internal mic Unplugging and replugging the headset changes the Output device in sound settings from Headphones to Speakers so that works, but nothing in the input tab ever changes. It always lists two devices: Internal Microphone and Microphone. Both of these seem to actually be the internal microphone in the mac - either works without the headset connected at all. So I'm not really sure how to proceed from here, but I'd be happy to run whatever diagnostic tests might prove useful and/or even contribute code toward a fix - but I just have no idea where to start. Is it as simple as just finding the right pin and telling the system to use it as a microphone? Many solutions have been tried w/o success: http://groups.google.com/group/vim_use/browse_thread/thread/dd1d8d9a799adf4a From the thread, someone provided this benchmark script: -- -- -- Benchmark vim's redrawing speed let i = 0 while i 2000 1 redraw $ redraw let i = i + 1 endwhile qa! -- -- -- I've run it with /etc/init.d/README as an input file (just to pick something consistent across Ubuntu machines): $ time vim -u NONE -U NONE -S test-redraw-speed.vim /etc/init.d/README real 0m5.407s user 0m0.568s sys 0m0.048s $ time gvim -u NONE -U NONE -f -S test-redraw-speed.vim /etc/init.d/README real 3m27.614s user 0m11.685s sys 0m0.312s As you can see gvim is almost 40x slower then vim (running in gnome- terminal). You'd expect gvim to be slower then vim, but not by this much. Note, from the thread, not all users experience this huge difference. Some only report 2-3x slowdown, which I'd be very happy with at this point :) I'm using the radeon X11 driver (open source) on a ThinkPad T42p, and do _not_ experience slow rendering in other apps (for example, gedit). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1351479] [NEW] Purple screen flicker on black screen when starting Ubuntu 14.04 with amd radeon 6450 gfx card
Public bug reported: Hi there! I cant start Ubunutu 14.04.. During the upstart I see the usual ubuntu loading screen (the one with the dots before loading x).. But I see it with purple flicker and strange noise patterns across the screen here and there.. Then it continues on to the loginscreen in ubuntu but here I dont see anything, its black background with the same purple flicker/strange noise patterns here and there.. Some times I can see the cursor displaying on this black/purple distortion pattern and I have one purple square distortion pattern following the cursor when I move it around.. other than that I cant see a thing actually so something goes wrong when loading this.. I have changed the hd with ubuntu from another computer back and forth, both motherboards have the same chip, one comupter have a sligthly more power cpu, the other dont, Ive changed the gfx card also from one computer to the other.. It worked at first doing this with no errors but now suddently it doesnt work on the new motherboard/cpu.. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1351479] Re: Purple screen flicker on black screen when starting Ubuntu 14.04 with amd radeon 6450 gfx card
I think this problem is related to the nomodeset problem because when I try to start ubuntu from a usb-memory (when doing an install), that doesnt work eighter with this configuration if I dont start ubuntu from the usb-memory with the nomodeset option enabled.. Maybee I should add that (?) as a separete bug report that you cant install ubuntu straigth from the usb-memory without the nomodeset option enabled. I have seen this problem around so Im unsure if I should add it to a new bug report when trying to install ubuntu? What you think? Any idea adding that as a bug-report?
