[Bug 540126] Re: Please upgrade bluefish to 2.0.0 version

2010-05-29 Thread nomnex
Daniel, when a key is missing on Ubuntu, I usually pass the command:

sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com
{N}

>From your page http://debian.wgdd.de/debian/#gpgkey, I have tried the
command:

sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys
0xE394D996

(but the command returned an error msg., would you be kind enough to
give me the correct syntax, if I have to re-install a key located on an
external server.)

-

I did not know the "--reinstall" switch, my comment #9 "[re]-installing"
implied passing the command "sudo apt-get install wgdd-archive-keyring"
over again. -- we all have been newbie once...

-

Again thank you for your kind answers and BlueFish 2.0 package. It is
the first time I am using a Debian repository.

Does uninstalling and reinstalling all of the openoffice.org packages
resolve the problem?

Also does your system pass the memory test option that is shown at
bootup? You should let that run for about 30m to 1hr to see if it is ok.

[Bug 587246] Re: change standard fonts to free versions

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Cheney
I can't reproduce this issue when 'Times New Roman' is not actually
installed on the system. In that case it defaults to 'Liberation Serif'.
If a user installs the non-free fonts they will probably like it to use
them by default as they are the universal format to use in documents on
other operating systems.

Does this happen to you even when you do not have 'Times New Roman'
installed on the system?

[Bug 297385] Re: iwl3945 sometimes fails to resume after suspend

2010-05-29 Thread christian
I've discovered the same problem with Ubuntu 10.04, kernel
2.6.32-22-generic on a Lenovo Thinkpad R61. Accidentally I've found
following solution for me:

echo enabled >
/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1c.1/:03:00.0/power/wakeup

I don't know what it does, but it seems to work. Suspend and resume works now

[Bug 549727] Re: [10.04] Touchpad stops working after login

2010-05-29 Thread Juggler
This bug also affects me, (But not my wifeyet)I am running a new
install on a root partition and calling /home on another. I originally
started running Lucid as soon as it became available and updated through
the update manager. my touchpad worked flawlessly until last week. I had
a problem with boot up causing the root partition to fail, I reformatted
that partition today and installed Lucid. I had a number of issues, but
the only one I have left is the touchpad issue

My wife's netbook is running an update version (Karmic -> Lucid) and
currently has no issues.

If anyone needs to compare files let me know, the netbooks are identical

[Bug 567029] Re: Login failure loop with Ubuntu 10.04

2010-05-29 Thread eyeshavings
Upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 - login loop every single time - login
screen showed up after a black screen blip. Shows a cl login prompt
with the "correct" login ID name that disappeared right away.

Up pops a login screen. I login in, it takes the password, it starts to
do something, the screen blanks and serves up the login screen instead
of the deaskthop.

it didn't matter if it was a dual boot with windows XP AND Breezy,
because I deleted them, reloaded 9.10 successfully and tried to upgrade
again = login loop

it didn't matter if I loaded 10.4 with or without partitions because I
deleted them. Another install, another login loop.

it didn't matter if I repartitioned the drive using Create Partition
from the 9.10 ubuntu live cd and loaded 10.04 from a restart or a total
shut down.

I am trying the shred command to see if maybe there was some kind of
boot sector thing going on, the only thing I will know after that is my
data is as gone as it can be and I truly regret hitting that little
Upgrade Now button. It was a real vacation wrecker.

I agree that the importance of this bug should be elevated.

[Bug 185057] Re: OpenOffice Mail Merge Wizard does not recognise new address list

2010-05-29 Thread Tim Bartlett
I am not sure if I understand what capacity the database has - since a
database is produced from a spreadsheet for the purposes of mail
merging, any information that was derived in the spreadsheet via formula
which includes switches and conditions do not find their way into the
database leaving the merged document with a bunch of blanks. Quite
unfortunate really.

I don't know whether to consider this as a let down with openoffice or
the database but it certainly curtails the usefulness of a mailmerge

If anyone has a solution, I would be very grateful if they would point
me in the right direction

[Bug 587356] [NEW] Alsa not working properly on Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xa 1526 with Ubuntu 10.04

2010-05-29 Thread Viktor Ilijasic
Public bug reported:

Sound is not working properly on my Fujitsu Siemens Xa 1526 laptop with
Ubuntu 10.04.

I used to be able to set "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig" in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf with Ubuntu 9.04 (and I had quite
acceptable sound, both from internal and extermal speakers), but it no
longer helps. I tried many other models as well, but to no avail.

Sound from built-in speakers now sounds like it's being played through
tweeters (no mid-bass), or it is completely muffled, depending on the
model I set in alsa-base.conf.

Currently I am using "options snd-hda-intel model=fujitsu-xa3530", but
that's not any better than a lot of other models. Other models that dont
emulate tweeters tend to provide louder sound from one channel (cant
remember if it is left or right).

I played a lot with alsamixer, and I figured out that I have to set a
model with a lot of speakers (5+), and then alsamixer can help my built-
in speakers play make-believe-stereo sound. It's actually far from
stereo, because, actually, I have to set mid and subwoofer to high gain
to get left and right mid-bass sound, which is, btw spilling quite
noticeably to the other channel.

So, I would have to say it is far from proper.

Also, microphone is not working at all. When I click the speaker in the
indicator applet, and choose sound preferences, then select input tab,
it shows no input hardware at all. When I use the old 3stack-dig
setting, I cannot get any midbass sound, but I DO have input hardware,
although I didn't test if it actually works. In 9.04 with 3stack-dig,
microphone worked acceptably, both internal and external connected to
the front mic jack.

Since my built-in speakers and microphone didn't work, I didn't even
test the connectors.

Laptop has 3 sound jacks in the front, nothing else, no digital either.

Could someone try to do something about this situation?

Thanks,

Viktor

[Bug 528957] Re: mouse button clicks not detected in windowed mode

2010-05-29 Thread Rune Philosof
** Description changed:

+ The main menu in the game wesnoth is not usable when running in windowed
+ mode (which is the default). So new users might not be able to use the
+ game without finding the workaround in this bug report.
+
+ This bug has been fixed by reverting another, but less severe, bug
+ (http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=716).
+
+ TEST CASE: Make sure compiz is enabled. Start the game wesnoth (if it
+ start in full screen then press ctrl-f). Nothing happens when you click
+ the buttons (except the letter in the bottom right).
+
+ Regarding regression see http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=716
+
+
+ --Original --
  Binary package hint: wesnoth

The game starts normally to the main screen, and I can move between menu
items with a mouse (the correct items are highlighted on mouse over).
The problem is that the mouse clicks are totally ignored. I cannot
select any items so the playing of the game seems rather difficult.

[Bug 585627] Re: There's no way to learn the master volume percentage grafically in 10.04

Indicators won't have tooltips. That is a design decision. But the sound
applet is getting a major face-lift for the next release, so it might
contain that information - the percentage of the current master volume
level, if I understood well.

[Bug 585750] Re: Refresh closes any expanded folders

2010-05-29 Thread Roth Róbert
Yes, it is reproducible, follow the steps:
1. Open a folder with subfolders in it
2. Set the view type to List
3. Click on the + sign before any of the subfolders to expand the folder, to
see its contents
4. Click the Refresh button or press F5 to refresh the folder contents

Expected result: The folder contents are refreshed, the expanded folders
remain expanded, the collapsed ones remain collapsed

Result: The folder contents get refreshed, but all subfolders which were
previously expanded, are collapsed, so the view is set to its initial
state, like it was when you have opened the folder.

[Bug 579117] Re: Wireless blocks USB-Audio, leading to dropouts

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Hermansen
Three more things to add.

First, I have a very similar, slightly older laptop than this one. Same
model number etc but about an 8 month earlier build with a slightly
slower processor. It's a kind of "spare". It has 10.04 on it, but
otherwise nothing much in the way of installed stuff. So I installed
latencytop and ran it; very similar (long) latencies on it.

Second, I disconnected the USB audio card, activated the internal sound
card, played some music, and a few minutes later got an underrun. So
it's not related to the USB external sound card thing. Here's syslog
around one of those. The shame of an underrun on Bob Marley.

[Bug 303595] Re: Gsynaptics loses settings on resume

2010-05-29 Thread Isaac Kriegman
Also broken in Kubuntu 10.04.

Multiple settings are lost on resume. Mostly I want to turn the tap-
clicking off. I can do that by unchecking the tap-click option. I can
also do it by setting the times so low that its impossible to tap
quickly enough, or accurately enough. Both of these approaches work
until I suspend and resume, in which case the settings are lost.

[Bug 268734] Re: immediate shutdown after pressing shutdown button

2010-05-29 Thread Isaac Kriegman
This problem seems to be back in Kubuntu 10.04. Despite the fact that
in each power profile, the action for the power button is set to suspend
to ram, or to present a dialog, when the power button is pressed, it
just shuts down the computer, killing whatever is open without closing
gracefully. This was working fine in 9.10, but in 10.04 it's broken
again.

[Bug 586827] Re: Malayalam rendering problem in Open Office Package using Ibus

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Cheney
[This is an automatic notification.]

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect -p openoffice.org-core 586827

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

  ubuntu-bug openoffice.org-core

Please do not set bugs back to 'New' after adding this information.

[Bug 587256] Re: Weblog has no configuration

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Cheney
[This is an automatic notification.]

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect -p openoffice.org-core 587256

[Bug 263779] Re: Evince hijacks global multimedia keys

2010-05-29 Thread Dana Goyette
This misfeature irritates me every time I have to use Evince. I can
understand having the thing skip pages when it's ALREADY in fullscreen
mode... but consider the current behavior:

I'm reading a PDF document while listening to music, and try to skip
tracks what happens? Evince goes to the next page, so I have to
manually go back, and possibly lose track of where I am reading.

Now, I try to pause the music, and Evince hijacks my whole screen so I have
to press F11 to un-fullscreen it.
And when I try to resume the music, Evince does it again.

What I think it should do: NOT take over play-pause, and only act on
track-skip hotkeys when already in fullscreen mode. That way, you can
still use it for "presentation mode". The ability to change pages with
a remote makes sense. The ability to change from windowed to fullscreen
(and not back again) does not make sense -- why not just start the
presentation with the PDF fullscreen already?

No, that's fine.

Hold down Shift while booting to get to grub. Then press 'e' and replace
"quiet splash" with "nomodeset". Ctrl+x to boot. If that doesn't work try
"noacpi" or "noapic".

Booted again. ^-right click produced a twm menu. Selected xterm.
Opened an xterm.

Rebooted. At the login prompt, clicked along the bottom of the screen
and located the display menu. Selected gnome. Worked.

The display driver was not providing enough contrast to allow the menu
selection to be visible.

Installed the ATI closed-source driver - see the washed out display
question.

Rebooted. The system came up normally.

[Bug 521509] Re: player 1 visual corruption

2010-05-29 Thread Robelix
I just built mixxx-1.7.2 with the workaround from r2567 on Gentoo x86.

Both waveform displays appear after startup - BUT: dropping songs on the
waveforms does not work. (and I'm used to load songs this way) Exactly
the same happens without the patch after changing the theme.
