[Bug 1289274] [NEW] Vagrant uses NFS but doesn't suggest the NFS package

2014-03-07 Thread Māris Fogels
Public bug reported:

Vagrant uses NFS to bind directories on the host system to directories
in the guest. However, the vagrant package doesn't suggest or recommend
the nfs-common package.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install a vagrant box and vagrant config file from a third party -
preferrably the config is already set up to use NFS (some github projects
provide this as a convenience for their project contributors).
2. Run 'vagrant up'
3. Vagrant complains about NFS not being present on the host system.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10
Package: vagrant 1.2.2-1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-17.31-generic 3.11.10.3

One can tweak the default thermald config to start throttling back at a
lower temperature if required. So it may need some machine specific
modification if it keeps on occurring.

[Bug 1272725]

2014-03-07 Thread Jan-Marek Glogowski
This looks like a KDE4 backend problem. Doesn't happen with we GNOME backend.
For me not only this Window is transparent, but the whole application stops
processing (internal?) X11 (paint?) events (just move the window).

If I close the dialog by guessing the button or pressing ESC, everything
continues to work fine...

Actually for me it just happens, if LO has some content in the clipboard
(probably again a QClipboard problem).

And it just happens with this modal dialog. I've tested other dialogs,
which using the same class (SfxTabDialog), but these don't freeze.

Currently I'm investigating, what makes this particular dialog so
special. All threads are actually Yielding, nobody seems to wit for a
lock - very strange.

Example showing broken cross-references

The problem appeared after application of solution for somehow disturbed
cross-reference dialogue
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50139,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50144,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45049,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46714,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47042). When creating text
document with several captions, it happens from time to time, that cross
references are disappearnig, showing instead 'Error: Reference source
not found' message; for instance, when new caption is inserted somewhere
in the middle of the document, the cross-references to other captions
following to the inserted caption disappearor are misplaced. The same
happens if part of the document containing captions and cross-references
is copied to other document or other part of the same document.

The sample file is attached to this report. Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open attached file and besides create blank writer file
2. in attached file select text starting from cross-references to Table 2 and
Illustration 2 to the end of document
3. press Ctrl+C to copy text block
4. move to blank file and press Ctrl+V

You will see instead of cross-reference to Table 2 and Illustration 2
'Error: Reference source not found' message. If you will select the
whole content and copy / paste it to blank, cross-references will
survive in this case.

I guess it is quite annoing bug.

in Apache OpenOffice.org (AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev. 1524958).

I have Ubuntu 13.04, 32 bit system with Mate desktop environment.

It is one of the worth regressions in writer module since I use
StarOffice, which means a bit more 10 years. I'm very suprised for
passivity in solving or at least investigating it, because it destroys
basic function of text processor and it is nearly impossible to use
libreoffice writer in group work without speding huge amount of work to
restore cross-references.

It's very copmlicated not to give up to pressure of colleges and to
switch to another office suite, if I don't have any idea, when the
situation will be solved. At least now it looks like 4.2 also will have
this regression.

[Bug 1289300] [NEW] Display language header isn't normal header style

2014-03-07 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Trusty r188

1. Go to System Settings Language Text Display language.
2. Look at the header.

What you see:
* The header background is mid-grey, making the text near-invisible.
* The text is the same size as the labels.
* The text says Display lang….

What you should see:
* The header background is the usual header color.
* The text is the usual header size.
* The text says Display language.

[Bug 1289298] [NEW] bbswitch stopped working with the latest kernel

2014-03-07 Thread Alin Andrei
Public bug reported:

bbswitch no longer works for me in Ubuntu 14.04 (I was using it with
nvidia-prime). Even though the package is installed and no errors are
displayed when installing it, it doesn't work - /proc/acpi/bbswitch
doesn't exist at all:

$cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch
cat: /proc/acpi/bbswitch: No such file or directory

And when I try to load it with modprobe I get modprobe: FATAL: Module

[Bug 1289308] [NEW] [FFe] Request to land go packages for continuing _touch_ development

2014-03-07 Thread Sergio Schvezov
Public bug reported:

Dear Release Team,

I would like to request a freeze exception for the following packages:

golang-go-xdg
golang-go-dbus

These packages are not installed on an end users system but used for
package building of other golang originated binaries used for Ubuntu
Touch (golang bindings for the ubuntu download manager, goget-ubuntu-
touch and usensord benefit from these).

Neither of these packages exist on Ubuntu and would be synced from debian
unstable, here are their packaging branches if further inspection is required:
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-go/packages/golang-go-xdg.git;a=summary
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-go/packages/golang-go-dbus.git;a=summary

These packages are not and will not be seeded in any way.

The impact to the distribution should be of very low risk.
The method to bring them into ubuntu would be with a requestsync

Re: [Bug 1262710] Re: [MIR] nginx

2014-03-07 Thread Thomas Ward
I guess that remains the most sane solution, drop the Lua module and
dependency, and leave it out of the package in Ubuntu. I'll add the
drop the Lua module changes to my debdiff after work today and drop
the debdiff here for review.

Note that this MIR also needs a FFe since FeatureFreeze is past.

I'd also like to have nginx 1.4.6 merged in but I'm not sure whether
that qualifies for an FFe...

[Bug 1289314] [NEW] 'Installation failed' error message

2014-03-07 Thread David Henningsson
Public bug reported:

When trying to create a usb startup disk, it immediately fails with an error
message translating to 'Installation failed' (in both window caption and text).
Btw, I notice that a /dev/loop device is created (and not cleaned up) every
time this happens.

[Bug 1289313] [NEW] Cancel button changes language in Display language sheet

2014-03-07 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Trusty r188

1. Go to System Settings Language Text Display language.
2. Choose a very different language.

What happens: The language of the Cancel and Confirm buttons both
change.

What should happen: The language of the Confirm button changes, but
the Cancel button stays the same.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LanguageAndText#display-language-phone: What
should change immediately, when you select a different language, is the
language of the 'Display language' header and the 'Confirm' button
itself, as a preview of what is about to happen.

 Importance: Undecided
