[Bug 1892457] Re: intel graphics installer error
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. You seem to need support more than have issues with a bug asking "How can i fix this problem?" I believe a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu (this bug report can be converted to a question (which is aimed at support)). You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 I'm going to mark this bug incomplete, as it appears as if you haven't followed the normal support procedures first. If however you believe I'm in error, please leave a comment with details and change the status back to "New". ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892457 Title: intel graphics installer error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1892457/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you Rbalint. Thanks to xnox I already found 1891716 and 1886886 which are sort of remotely related (to the next upload), I guess this bug will serve for the "marking systemd-fsckd test as flaky" task then. [Bug 1575053] Re: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location
I was an early and vocal critic of the "$HOME/snap" directory who: (a) complained about this issue in numerous comments, including comment #14 (posted 2017-04-16), comment #15 (posted 2017-05-20), comment #19 (posted 2017-07-12), and comment #32 (posted 2017-10-22); (b) reverted the status of this issue back to "Confirmed" (after another moved it to “Opinion”) on 2018-02-25; and (c) edited the summary to succinctly read "Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location" on 2018-02-25. As an early and vocal critic of the "$HOME/snap" directory, I humbly and respectfully ask the following favor of those who continue to post here complaining about this bug: STOP IT! The devs have heard us, they are diligently working to solve this issue, and they will provide a solution as soon as practicable. [Bug 1892427] Re: HDMI connected monitor wakeup problems
This sounds like two separate issues: 1. Needing to wake the TV with the remote. I would hazard a guess that's a feature/bug of the TV firmware. TVs generally don't expect to be used as monitors and may not implement power mode switching reliably like a proper monitor. Most likely it's designed to respond to the remote only. I don't think this is a software bug in Ubuntu, but probably in the TV itself... 2. Windows get moved and resized. This should only happen if the monitor (TV) is seen to be unplugged. But indeed sometimes power saving modes do get confused for the monitor being unplugged. I wonder though if this is also a problem with the TV failing to sleep correctly and instead disconnecting from the computer... Can you test a (non-TV) monitor on the same HDMI port? ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - HDMI connected monitor wakeup problems + HDMI connected TV wakeup problems ** Summary changed: - HDMI connected TV wakeup problems + [amdgpu] HDMI connected TV wakeup problems ** Package changed: xorg-server (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu (Ubuntu) ** Tags added: amdgpu ** Tags added: multimonitor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892427 Title: [amdgpu] HDMI connected TV wakeup problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/+bug/1892427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Loading and reloading policies happens all the time and can probably be filtered out in a log summarizing tool. (They might still be bad if an attacker has replaced policies with ones that are wide-open.) A quick skim through the kernel sources shows a lot of other possible info= strings, too many to itemize them all, and also it'd take a while to figure out which ones could happen with profile=unconfined. If you want to filter out operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" and operation="profile_replace" profile="unconfined" lines, that'd probably be a good start. [Bug 1891785] Re: choose-w misaligned (regression)
agreed, an upstream issue, and agree, those threads are the same issue. however your comment seems to advocate the idea that launchpad isn't a venue for bugs in software distributed by ubuntu. while i understand that idea, i think the majority opinion, even the design intention, is that launchpad is a venue of choice even for bugs that originate upstream, and it's very common for launchpad bugs to refer to other bug database entries, especially upstream ones. imo the threads you mention justify this bug being marked 'confirmed'. ** Changed in: tmux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1891785 Title: choose-w misaligned (regression) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tmux/+bug/1891785/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is a problem in any system that is upgraded and has attachments to the array, because the connection properties of those volumes will not contain the new fields and detaching them will result in error "KeyError: 'config_group'". This patch adds compatibility code to support the old connection properties format so we can detach those volumes. [Bug 1861936] Re: Raspberry Pi 3 network dies shortly after a burst of IPv6 tunnel network load ((lan78xx): transmit queue 0 timed out)
@Matt I didn't find any special way to easily select between kernels on raspberry - installing the linux-{headers,image}--raspi2 would overwrite whatever was on the FAT partition, making it the kernel loaded on next boot. To revert to previous kernel, its package would need to be reinstalled (apt install --reinstall ). I did run into a problem where a tested kernel wouldn't boot, so I'd recommend making a backup of the FAT partition in advance so you can recover it outside of the Raspberry's OS session. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1861936 Title: Raspberry Pi 3 network dies shortly after a burst of IPv6 tunnel network load ((lan78xx): transmit queue 0 timed out) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi2/+bug/1861936/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1892430] [NEW] Black screen after suspending with laptop lid due to compilation with UPower GLib
Public bug reported: When resuming from suspending a laptop with the lid in Xfce, the screen stays dark after logging in with light-locker or during the login with xfce4-screensaver. The only way to get back to a desktop is to use a tty to restart the display manager. After some more testing, I found that this is a problem with the way UPower is incorporated into the program. This can be fixed by adding the option "--disable-upower-glib" to the ./configure script. This fixes issue in Arch/Manjaro, where this option is implemented in the PKGBUILD. I've reported this upstream, but with the state XFCE is in as a project I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.
