[Bug 1881527] [NEW] Modifications in xmodmap not taking effect
Public bug reported: I'm having difficulties in remapping some of my keys on Ubuntu 20.04 and gnome-control-center version 3.36.2. The problem is similar to Bug #1867548 but manifests itself even with gnome-control-center versions with this bug fixed. I follow the below steps to exchange the Control_L key and XF86WakeUp key (Fn on German keyboards): I execute xev to discover the Control_L and XF86WakeUp keycodes: KeyRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x461, root 0x5dd, subw 0x0, time 4165720, (668,636), root:(902,854), state 0x4, keycode 37 (keysym 0xffe3, Control_L), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False KeyPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x461, root 0x5dd, subw 0x0, time 4166218, (668,636), root:(902,854), state 0x0, keycode 151 (keysym 0x1008ff2b, XF86WakeUp), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False Then, I run $ xmodmap -e "keycode 37 = XF86WakeUp" and $ xmodmap -e "keycode 151 = Control_L" After which xev shows: KeyRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3c1, root 0x5fd, subw 0x0, time 1691367, (1390,1888), root:(1584,2066), state 0x0, keycode 151 (keysym 0xffe3, Control_L), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False KeyPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3c1, root 0x5fd, subw 0x0, time 1692110, (1390,1888), root:(1584,2066), state 0x0, keycode 37 (keysym 0x1008ff2b, XF86WakeUp), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False Saving this to a .Xmodmap file and looking at the content correctly shows the change: $ xmodmap -pke ~./Xmodmap $ cat ~/.Xmodmap -- snip -- keycode 37 = XF86WakeUp NoSymbol XF86WakeUp keycode 151 = Control_L NoSymbol Control_L -- snip-- However, the system still treats key 37 as Control_L, and key 151 as XF86WakeUp. [Bug 1838779] [NEW] okular cannot set F7 as shortcut for Show Toolbar
Public bug reported: Using okular 1.7.3 (4:19.04.3-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build36) on KDE neon User Edition 5.16 (bionic 18.04). I have trouble setting a shortcut for the "Show Toolbar" function (for the toolbar at the top of the window). It seems that certain actions, such as opening/closing the Navigation Panel (on the left side, both from the menu and via its shortcut) or opening/closing the Menu (via Ctrl+M) revert the shortcuts to the default values. The default shortcut for "Show Toolbar" is unluckily None. I've tried to change the shortcut in two ways: 1) Menu -> Settings -> right click on "Show Toolbar" -> Configure Shortcut 2) Menu -> Settings -> Configure Shortcuts -> search for "Show" -> reset the shortcut -> Manage Schemes -> More actions -> Save shortcuts to scheme Either way, after a few operations, the new shortcut stops working and when I open the menu for resetting it, it is back to None. I tried to set it to "Shift+F7,F7", which is the shortcut I used on my old system, but it also gets reset to default after opening/closing the Navigation panel. ** Affects: okular (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838779 Title: okular cannot set F7 as shortcut for Show Toolbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/okular/+bug/1838779/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1754621] [NEW] Builtin touchpad is not seen in 'DELL Latitude E5550' after the reboot during update.
Public bug reported: After an unexpected reboot, cursor disappeared. The only thing, which helped -- typing gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.cursor active false and rebooting again. However, cursor now doesn't move with a touchpad. I have found this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection. I have checked, if cursor moves with a mouse and it does. [Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
Running Xubuntu 16.04.1 with all updates applied as of 31/01/17 this bug affected me when using the HDMI port of a Braswell chipset Shuttle XS36V5. When resuming my Samsung TV from standby the HDMI wouldn't wake up and thus no picture. It was the only display device attached. Tried various combinations of power management settings in UEFI/XFCE/TV to no avail, as well as a different HDMI port on TV as well as different HDMI. Upon a 'sudo reboot' from SSH or by pressing the power button on the shuttle (had power button set to 'shutdown' instead of 'ask') the TV would wake up within a second or two and show the shutting down logo. Consulted your Freenode IRC channel, Flocculant suggested applying: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/269857837/xfce4-settings_4.12.0-3ubuntu1_amd64.deb Which i did with 'dpkg -i xfce4-settings_4.12.0-3ubuntu1_amd64.deb && apt-get install -f' and this fixed it. [Bug 1431753] Re: Nvidia binary driver FTBS due to DKMS layer violation
I have a smilar case as teo1978. - I have a dell laptop with Optimus technology with both Intel and Nvidia GPU. Before the upgrade from 331 to 340 I never managed to get the Nvidia GPU running, so I just used Intel instead. After the upgrade, the Nvidia GPU was turned on by default but something was wrong with the configuration in the xorg.conf file. Because of this I got a black screen after rebooting. The solution that I linked a few posts up actually has a thorough explanation of what happened. It shows how to fix the xorg.conf file and how to prevent ubuntu from changing it back after reboot (it was crucial for me). [Bug 494547]
Ah, sorry for the duplicate. I actually searched for "save filter" and nothing came up, odd. Anyway, is it really necessary to save it "per album"? I guess just a quick and easy way to save and load filter settings will get the job done in a similar manner? Copy-Pasta of my suggestion: At the very top of the filters sidebar could be a text-input for a name, next to it a save button. Below a dropdown list with all saved filters, the default display could re d "load a saved filter" or "no saved filters". When loading one, the name should appear in the name input field above, so changes can be saved quickly or variations can be saved with only adding a letter/number to the original name. This way there is not too much space wasted. Well, this means a two-click operation every time one want's to load an album with a filter... Sorry, I have no idea about programming, but maybe this is also a better solution in case there are performance issues with the per-album-setting: instead of saving all filter settings per album, just save a reference to a saved filter... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494547 Title: WISH: Remeber filter settings in album view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/digikam/+bug/494547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1455364] [NEW] the wrong return value of function ubifs_fill_super()
Public bug reported: In function ubifs_fill_super() at fs/ubifs/super.c: 1955, the call to d_alloc_root() in line 2058 may return a NULL pointer, and thus function ubifs_fill_super() will return the value of variable err. [Bug 773696] Re: Natty Narwhal upgrade 11.04 will not upgrade.
That's strange. Hope it boots, that's a lot of updates. I have not had any updates since yesterday. I hope this gets fixed soon. Now, when I try to upgrade it gives me the error message: Could not download the release notes Please check your internet connection. (As I said previously my connection is fine) :S It doesn't even start downloading. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/773696 Title: Natty Narwhal upgrade 11.04 will not upgrade. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
