Sorry, my (and MS) mistake. Just a week ago I've changed SATA mode from IDE to AHCI to be able to use eSATA HDD. I've had this issue for a few days. Removing dvdrip and autoremoving its deps fixed the problem. After the last 3 days I have some things to add. I needed to connect to WEP protected wireless network and could not do that. * network-manager just kept asking for the password and did nothing. Public bug reported: I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed on Acer Aspire 5739G. lspci says I have "09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Attansic Technology Corp. Device 1063 (rev c0)" and I use the driver installed with Ubuntu 9.04. When I connect to any wireless network I only have 1Mb/s (iwlist wlan0 rate). $ sudo iwlist wlan0 scanning shows that my router support up to 54 Mb/s. After I do $ sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54Mb/s it gets a little better, but still far from 54 Mb/s.
